ERBIL - The Kurdistan Region's Peshmerga Ministry received a delegation from the US-led Coalition forces on Monday in Erbil where they had talks on the reform process within the ministry, a statement has confirmed.

During the meeting, Peshmerga Minister Shorish Ismail provided the delegation with details on the ongoing steps in the reforms within the Peshmerga Ministry while exchanging views on the Coalition trainings to the Kurdish fighters.

Ismail stressed on the importance of closer cooperations between the Peshmerga Ministry and Global Coalition, as well as continuation of military and logistical assistance provided to the Peshmerga fighters.

He also thanked the US-led Coalition for its prolonged support for the reform process within the ministry, including the efforts to reorganize the Peshmerga forces.

The delegation, in return, reaffirmed that the Coalition will continue to support the Peshmerga Ministry with implementing better military projects.

The two sides have previously held similar meetings to discuss the reforms and military assistance provided by the Global Coalition to the Peshmerga forces.

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani soon after he took office presented a package of reforms, including the reorganization of the Peshmerga and creating a unified force.
