Oil and gas field depletion.

"An oil and gas field is an aggregate of wells and these wells are normally deployed by the operating company along a field development plan which cover years if not decades.

It means that new wells will enter production while the first ones are maturing and then declining.

From the field perspective the operator will schedule the new wells to compensate the old ones so that the field production will reach a plateau as fast as possible and sustain this plateau as long as possible.

The level of this plateau is defined on the upstream side by the size and capacity of the field and on the downstream side by the potential oil and gas treatment capacities required for that field.

Then when all the possible wells will have been drilled the overall production of the field will start to drop from the plateau and decline.

For an oil field the decline of the whole field is usually slower than a single well as it is unlikely that all aging wells should decline at the same time.

EOR technologies can also contribute to slow down the depletion process."

The Kurdistan Region constitutes three negotiating delegations to resolve outstanding problems with Baghdad

02/09/2019

Kelkamsh Press / Baghdad
MP of the Kurdistan Democratic Bloc, Ahmed al-Saffar, on Monday, the Kurdistan region formed three negotiating delegations - political, economic, financial - to resolve the outstanding problems between the Center and the region, pointing out that the region is waiting for the formation of negotiating delegations from the central government.
Al-Saffar told Kelkamsh Press that there is a serious move to solve the outstanding economic, financial and political problems between Baghdad and Erbil, pointing out that the regional government formed delegations specialized in border ports and taxes, as well as in the field of oil and in the political field concerned with Article 140.
He pointed out that "the Kurdistan region is waiting for the formation of the corresponding delegation from the government and we expect during the next month will be sessions, meetings and dialogues on resolving the outstanding problems dating back to 2004 and not only that related to the 2020 budget because it is an annual," adding that "the Committee went to find final solutions to the differences in the budget And solve problems that are renewed every year. ”
He stressed, "There is a serious intention on both sides to resolve the outstanding problems and there are no problems can not be solved."

"explain to the class why the company have drilled well H real close to S10:-)"

He doesn't need to Sarah.

Everybody except you took the answer on board when you asked the same question a month ago. The answer hasn't changed so try to pay attention this time.

Here it is again, from the Capital Markets Day:-

Question - Do the new infill wells target areas with more or less fracturing?

Stuart Catterall - "No. Productivity is not an issue for us, as even in areas away from the faults we have high productivity. So the wells are located so they're in the right location aerially for the overall depletion strategy of the field rather than targeting high productivity areas or areas of high faulting."

They have rather Spelt it out#GKPWhilst waiting, compare and contrast Genel and GKP statements regarding intentions of buyback to Treasury. When GKP announce sale, its not that they didn't tell you in advance. No staff options vest until 2021 / 2022 unless Co is sold.GENEL :Any shares purchased under this authority may either be cancelled or held as Treasury Shares. Treasury Shares may subsequently be cancelled, sold for cash or used to satisfy options issued to employees pursuant to the Company's employees' share schemes.GKP :The Company is proposing to amend the Byelaws to facilitate the execution of a market purchase of its own Common Shares for cancellation or to acquire them as Treasury Shares. I agree with thisGKP 2nd phase buyback timing? They have elected to tell the market only that the next phase has begun AFTER its been initiated.Imo they are telling market participants that if anybody tries to majorly %+=& with the SP/book they have 10m dollars of intervention ready at any time.Their brokers yesterday immediately went to the top of bid and ask, again today. Clearly a sale is soon TBA, and the way to profit, is to drive stock out in mkt, by dropping it sharply. Protective tactic from Gulf imo.

Dear Tony an Sarah,Why I'm writing this ridiculous response to you is beyond me, but it's part of my remit, and sadly I'm saddled with having to deal with you both. Although I have legacy issues to resolve, you fail to grasp the fact that you are one of them, along with Lardner23. However, I am pleased to have been part of the team that has steered you and your associates out of your investment. You haven't realised yet, but one day you shall.Your most certainly not my friends. All the best,A man in a suit.

Chinese oil majors appear to be casting a fresh eye over Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd.'s (GKP.LN) flagship oil asset in Kurdistan, according to a copy of a report seen by Dow Jones NewswiresExperts from the China National Petroleum Corp. and China National Offshore Oil Corp. (0883.HK) have carried out a technical study of rock formations at Gulf Keystone's Shaikan field in the semi-autonomous region of Iraq, according to a report on the study.Shaikan has been described as a "world-class oil field" with a current production capacity of 40,000 barrels of oil a day, though London-listed Gulf Keystone plans to increase this to 55,000 barrels in the next year or so and eventually to 110,000 barrels. The report, based on a presentation made to an industry conference in Bahrain earlier this year, cites six authors from CNPC and CNOOC or research organizations attached to them. The latter includes the Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration & Development, which is the research-and-development center of CNPC and PetroChina Co. (601857.SH).The report says the carbonate reservoirs in the regional land basin housing Shaikan and about 29 other oil fields are "extremely rich in oil-and-gas resources."The report also appears to question a threshold used in a previous assessment of reserves at Shaikan to determine the level of rock porosity at which oil recovery would be viable, saying it is too high.A spokesman for Gulf Keystone declined to comment on the study and the Chinese authors didn't respond to an emailed request for comment. The report is the latest indication of wider industry interest in the field, which London-listed Gulf Keystone discovered in 2009.In December 2016, a Bloomberg report said that another Chinese oil major, Sinopec, had approached Gulf Keystone. In July 2014, sector bankers and analysts reportedly said that Sinopec, CNPC and U.S. majors Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) and Chevron Corp. (CVX) had "shown interest" in Gulf Keystone. And in December 2011, interest by Sinopec was reported and Gulf Keystone subsequently went with advisers to China in March 2012.

Good Afternoon 😃

A potential reply to one of David Hills many emails to a particular oil company.

Dear Mr Hills

Thank you for your email. I am very aware of you're personal vendetta against Oilman63 and to be quite honest I find it somewhat unhinged and want nothing to do with it !

Sometime back I wrote an email to Oilman63 thanking him for his services to the company and to indirectly show my disappointment and disapproval in what you and you're friends were doing.

With regards to a GoatCam you keep emailing about there is absolutely nothing I can do about it because it's outside the company and I have no say in the matter.

I would just like to point out to you recent press reports and the restraints put on us.
I find this behaviour hypocritical and agenda ridden.

Please seek medical help David and if you continue to bother me I will set my legal team on you as I did with Robert.

Signed The Head Honcho.
