1 waving on the sensible thread:." -- The SH-12 well (formerly called SH-H) was spudded on 7 June with DQE's Rig 40 ".Around 2 months to drill. Should now be testing..

No one likes a turncoat, Lord Spare.

No one has an ounce of trust in whatever you say or whatever your validations. Ergo, your view is a total irrelevance to those who know your history.

Sad.

"But didn't the DGA tell us how wonderful Sheikh Adi was and yet we paid to get rid of it."

The usual totally confused garbage from Oilman.

It doesn't matter how wonderful it is if you've got no money to develop it.

Which is why we had to relinquish it.

At the time we were struggling to hang onto Shaikan.

Steephill. I cannot imagine any IOC buying gkp without conducting their own huge tech DD of Shaikan . an exclusive conditional sale contract with large break fee would have provided for that. Imo that has been conducted, and the Permian will have been tested. 2017/2018 I believe tech DD took place by the Chinese. I can't imagine they didn't drill into the Permian during that time.

But didn't the DGA tell us how wonderful Sheikh Adi was and yet we paid to get rid of it.

Shaikan had one drill and they guessed a figure and pumped the life out of it.

Are we now to ignore all the data from the 9 wells drilled since and the CPR's ???

Not to mention the data from all of the neighbouring fields.

Just a side note on Steephill lol.

Note how the posts receive 10 votes within minutes 🤡

In 2010 DGA were saying 1 to 5 bill blls after one drill Steephill Cove.

Evaluation of Shaikan No. 1 Discovery for Gulf Keystone
January 2010

VI. CONCLUSIONS
The Shaikan 1-B well discovered a significant amount of oil and gas in the Cretaceous, Jurassic,
and Triassic Formations. We estimate the oil resources to be between 1.9 BBO (P 90 ) and 7.4
BBO (P 10 ) with a mean value of 4.2 BBO. Gas resources range from 0.4 TCF (P 90 ) to 1.5 TCF
(P 10 ) with a mean value of 0.8 TCF. The high side (P 1 ) resources are estimated at ~13 BBO and
2.7 TCF. No free water level has been encountered in the well through the TD of 2,950 m MD.
Seismic data shows even deeper closures below the Lower Kurra Chine Formation that are
prospective. Potential additional resources from these deeper formations are estimated at 1 to 5
BBO and 6 to 14 TCF.
The greatest uncertainty for these resource estimates is the areal extent of the reservoirs and the
estimates of net pay. A second well drilled on the east side of the structure and additional data
will significantly reduce these uncertainties.
This discovery greatly reduces the geologic risks in the Sheikh Adi, Akri Bijeel and the Ber Bahr
blocks, Gulf Keystone’s adjacent opportunities. The Shaikan discovery proves the presence of
hydrocarbon source and migration in the area.

And that is the sole reason why Ryder Scott & DGA will not be used again. They showed a little too much of the hand in what is a very high stakes game of Oil Poker.

Its ALWAYS been about the PERMIAN.The company is solely valued on whats in the Jurassic & that in itself is huge. However, its the Permian that will pressurise the Shaikan field & where the oil & gas MONSTER lies. Its impact was seen on Shaikan 1 & it has the reserve potential to propel Shaikan into the same league as Kirkuk & beyond.

Nestoframpers, when you have sold the company, and the new owners will finance the opex expansion, it's far more profitable to use your own cash to maximise the proceeds on sale. You do that by buying in as much of your own stock as possible to concentrate profits into those shareholders who remain at sale. So expect a very substantial OFF MARKET buyin shortly!

And yet another Gem from nesto:

"...on the pretense of GKP not having a gas re-injection plan ( why didn't they have one it's standard stuff)."

You mean like the ESPs were, sort of, Off-the-Shelf like...?

Off your trolley.

Good Morning 😃

I woke up this morning had a quick read here and was convinced we were all back in 2009.

Since all of these ramptastic reports we have had how many CPR's that say differently ???

Let's ignore them and focus on a company's reports that events have proven to be a little suspect.

Can somebody explain why Gulf haven't used DGA since then ???

Isn't it amazing Steephill Cove that was 2009 and they knew lots , the DGA one was from 2011 and had the Smirit well on it showing that there had been pressure testing between different blocks, this is what BBS had said would be the case.

BTW on the DGA one they say total porosity is 6% , this is huge 0.2% increases = another 0.8 bill blls on top of the 0.7% stating point. No wonder the KRG would not allow the FDP on the pretense of GKP not having a gas re-injection plan ( why didn't they have one it's standard stuff) as that would mean another CPR and they can't keep pulling the wool over our eyes.

bigdog,

no matter what they do, the KRG will never, IMO, be allocated the 17%+ of the Iraq budget they believe they are entitled to.

The current transfers are sufficient, in the view of the central government, to ensure that KRG gov salaries & -wages are paid.
The caveats of course are that:
1. Baghdad does not believe the numbers stack up (of gov staff and -paid contractors) and that certain pockets are being lined.
2. Baghdad rightly believes that the KRG salaries & -wages being paid are out of kilter with what the Iraqi situation can afford and can justify; Erbil vs Basrah.

Re the point about total KRG output, it has to be said there are several output streams; some are officially recognized (& quantifiable) by the central government, some less so.

Iraqi Delegation to Visit Kurdistan Region Soon

Iraqi Delegation to Visit Kurdistan Region Soon

Tagged under en
ERBIL - A delegation from Iraq is expected to visit the Kurdistan Region in the near future to discuss the subjects of oil and budget, a Kurdish lawmaker revealed on Monday.

Talking to BasNews, Mohammed Amin Fars, a Kurdish MP at the Iraqi Parliament, said that the delegates are invited by the Kurdistan Region's Parliament presidency for talks on the issues of oil and Erbil's share from the federal budget for the year 2020.

Earlier the day, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) said in a statement that Baghdad has cut part of Erbil's share from the budget as the federal government accused the Kurdistan Region of not handing over 250,000 barrels per day to Iraq based on a previous agreement between the two sides.

In a statement to reporters on Monday, KRG spokesperson Jutyar Adil said that the Kurdistan Region's annual share from the budget is IQD 12.84 trillion, while the central government sends only IQD 5.44 trillion.

Fars, however, said that the region is prepared to send the requested 250,000 barrels per day in hopes of address the remaining disputes between Erbil and Baghdad.
