It's the MNR formation johnyboy. The MNR have lost Kirkuk and need to hand Baghdad 250k barrels a day which they haven't got. Baghdad will cut their budget in half if they don't get it.

The MNR owe $billions so its likely they will increase the tax take on the oily's and are leaning on them at the same time to spend money in order to increase production.

This will of course take years to unfold and the company have lost the finance guys.

Another round of dilution on the way?

mcfly, he was named a dangerous fantasists after all.

Triassic you mention. Well, over the years I've stated many times that the Kozel regime wanted to drill there and then blend it with the very heavy Jurassic.

The fact is heavy oil is going to fall in value according to Opec. Currently Gkp blend with other companies superior oil, something I would imagine angers those with the better oil as it reduces it's value.

So if Gkp were to put a project together to drill the Triassic and then blend with their heavy Jurassic it could be good for the company, the others with the better quality oil and of course the MNR.

This is something I was "suggesting" the other day without mentioning the Triassic. However, as I said then, it would be very risky, very expensive and a huge project for a company that has failed with every other plan. Added to that is it could add additional issues to the ones they already have with the field. Then there's the gas issue which is a massive and expensive project in itself. Then they don't know if the Triassic would flow, has it got its own gas issues, water problems, would the gas injection work?

Do they have the funds to go for it or will they require more. Wasting money on buybacks and dividends?

As I mentioned before it would be a Political driven plan due to Koruptistan desperately needing more oil as Baghdad want their 250k a day and the MNR have problems with that.

But it's real risky, very expensive and will take years and that's without all the problems that will arise because they always do. Plus I wouldn't leave it to the current experts I would get real experts on board that have achieved a project of that size before.

Is that the next ton of hype that's coming down the track in order to fill the trough?

Just a mull:-)

No issues for Surrey Pinocchio, he sold everything today and will buy back tomorrow. Unless it goes up of course, then he sold none.
