It seems that, despite having migrated from AIM (cowboy country) to the Main Board (serious bods), the mindset of those running GKP is still firmly mired in a "take as much as you can, while you can" state.

None of the BOD or senior management impress.

No wonder Charlie Guthrie left, before his reputation took too big a hit.

What serious finance guy would allow $75M (more than 25% of its free cash) to be bled from a company at this stage of its Capex-intensive development?

Nine days ago it was reported that Ashti Hawrami had been removed by the new Prime Minister Masrour Barzani from his position as the Minister of Natural Resources, and that the MNR would henceforth be overseen by Barzani himself.

Hawrami has been moved to an "advisory" role.

What operational role he will play as an "advisor" remains unclear.

The Minister of Natural Resources normally sits on the five man Oil and Gas Council which is headed by the Prime Minister and which is the ultimate decision maker within the Kurdish energy sector.

The five man council is made up of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Natural Resources, the Minister of Finance and Economy, and the Minister of Planning.

As Hawrami is no longer the Minister of Natural Resources and as it is not known what his new "advisory" role or job title is, it is not clear if he will still sit on the Oil and Gas council and therefore be part of the ultimate decision making process.

Maybe this has got something to do with it:-

Yup, NOR. That northern Iraq pipeline might just get more important. But it's beginning to look difficult to buy this buyback programme at a reasonable price. :)

Mr H get's even more power? So he's had promotion? That can't be viewed as positive as he ain't no fan of this Company.
The share price down again so the wasting of funds is having the opposite effect, as predicted.

Another day and even more "issues" add to all the others n'est ce pas.

Institutions have dumped, significant shareholders have walked, two finance guys out the door, hyped plans, dividends and now the buybacks have all failed re the share price

I did the obvious thing, and sold my entire holding, after having qualified for OO, and re-bought the whole lot at the offer price (80%) and the remaining 20% of cash that was handed back to me on 17th Oct. Didn't everyone have the same strategy?

This is exactly what I advised people to do in here. Even the doughnuts who were pumping some kind of poison pill guff-takeover 15 times a day and spending their pennies at every share price between 2p to 380p+

Hence, an average at 0.85p today


I don't bash this stock. I simply say what I see and have done for years. A running commentary of an inevitable car crash. This farce didn't need bashers to see the sack-o-cack that is 1p. It happened all by itself.

I advised nothing more for years than not to buy any more shares in GKP. Sound advice against a barrage of guffing pump-monkeys and rampers who claimed to be all knowledgeable

As I also said for years - to pretend to be happy, could only be idiocy (What She Said, The Smiths c.1984)

No lies from me. Just the honest truth, as it always has been
If you're looking for the liars in here, then I think you already know who they are....... as we all do
