23/6/2011 14:11 | There is no point in exercising options before the expiry date unless the company pays dividends. That does not look likely until a lot more debt is paid off. | puffin tickler
23/6/2011 13:25 | Why retain the London listing...surely it has served it's time? The CEO now as 700k options | caveat_emptor
21/6/2011 20:04 | "We think cooler heads will prevail and we'll get something rational" from Congress, said Vincent Kwasniewski, vice president of GTL Resources. The company owns the Illinois River Energy ethanol plant in Rochelle, Ill. "We think we're in a strong position to prosper under that kind of legislative situation." | aceuk
17/6/2011 11:41 | But i think this stock always has concerns about the future short term margins - which is whzt mm's are factoring in - rather than historic results. Margins are low at the moment and commodity price pressures seem set to continue. From Annual Report : US Corn plantings for the 2011-2012 harvest started late in the season due to wet, cold weather. This could translate to fewer planted acres and lower yields, however, it is too soon to accurately predict how much corn will be produced compared with the nearly record volumes expected. The fall 2010-2011 harvest turned out to be less than initially anticipated and current reserves are, consequently, very low. Both factors are leading to upward pressure on corn prices that are expected to persist throughout the year. (Bring on the Zein!) | vish65
17/6/2011 08:20 | today's share price dip is bonkers after those good results. | spaceparallax
15/6/2011 12:18 | I like £2.40 too, I would just break even then | guru94
15/6/2011 10:58 | well done Cerrito - beat me to it. I like their suggestion of 240p | spaceparallax
15/6/2011 10:54 | Edison report not sure where they get their eps figures from | cerrito
15/6/2011 10:35 | The problem remains a US company listed on a uk exchange!!! At this level....? | caveat_emptor
15/6/2011 09:10 | Good results - PER remains very low. I find it inconceivable that the share price can remain at this level for much longer - a rerating towards £1 seems likely sooner rather than later. | spaceparallax
15/6/2011 08:51 | last comment: interesting to compare prices/costs between the first half and the second half of the financial year Ethanol prices went up 41% from 1.63$ to 2.31$, tracking the price of oil; ddgs prices went up also 41% from 2.21$ to 1.71$ showing that they do act as a rather weak hedge to the increase in the price of corn. The problem of course was that the price of corn went up 61% from 3.53$ to 5.69$ | cerrito
15/6/2011 08:31 | I was expecting the price to rise. Is it the reduction in margin that worries people. Still quite a lot of debt, but falling fairly fast. | dcomd99
15/6/2011 08:31 | pe following this morning's drop to a mid price of 74p is 6.4x ie eps were 0.19$ or 11.6p nothing really surprising in the figures as fas as I am concerned..seems pretty well priced and have no desire to buy or sell Good to see that they managed to reduce their gas consumption at the same time increasing ddg and ethanol sales | cerrito
15/6/2011 07:16 | Anyway that puts the E issue to bed . | caveat_emptor
15/6/2011 07:10 | Senate keeps ethanol credits but sends a message on tax breaks. The vote suggests some Republicans are willing to close loopholes to save money, even though many regard such moves as tax increases. | caveat_emptor
15/6/2011 06:56 | What is the pe now? I calculate the share price would have to move up to £1.40(analysts forecast) to meet a PE of 6.5....? | caveat_emptor
15/6/2011 06:54 | Puffin Tickler said.... "Your expectation is far more optimistic than mine. I reckon about break even pre tax profit with a debt pay down of about 12 M$. Not even my most rose tinted spectacles lead me to expect a profit anywhere near 24 M pounds (36 M$)." Cerrito said..... am going for a reduced post tax profit in the second half making a full year post tax profit of apprx $6m. or £3.6m approx and............. PE 6.5 | caveat_emptor
15/6/2011 06:43 | Commenting on the results, GTL CEO Richard Ruebe said: "The year to 31 March 2011 was the second year of substantial cash generation for the GTL Group since our plant doubled its capacity in fiscal 2009. Revenues increased over 20% and production increased over 7% for the year. Continual process improvements have led to excellent operating performance. Our commercial desk continued to deliver above market margins. In addition, GTL has taken steps toward diversifying its revenue stream by signing a collaboration agreement with Prairie Gold, Inc. to commercialize a high value bio refinery product, food grade zein protein. It's a very exciting time for GTL and I am very proud of the FY 2011 results." | charlock |
