Hopefully this rns sees us push into the 14's today but you never can tell with GSK and especially in this market!!

The RNS does look good.
Does anyone have a economic value of the drug's potential worth?

I would imagine Pfizer will need to raise cash - sell stake in Haleon??

It probably knocks out Pfizer for any corporate action to take GSK.

That leaves Novartis once they IPO Sandoz.

I doubt they could afford it as no-one would lend them the money!

Yet Pfizer is UP 2.5%. One wonders what it would have done to the GSK price if they'd made the bid .... ;0)

A large deal - Pfizer has agreed to acquire antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developer Seagen for $43 billion. The potential acquisition of Seagen (previously Seattle Genetics) has been circulating news outlets since June last year when the Wall Street Journal reported Merck & Co. was eyeing the Bothell, Washington based firm to increase its oncology offering.

Another one I never get is Admiral Insurance

Google says the dividend yield is 4.48%
Wall street journal say yield is 8.62%
Advfn says the yield is 8.62%

Is google right or is WSJ?

Its difficult for ordinary investors to see...

Any ideas?

PS - GOOGLE is right.

I think the discrepancies arise from the fact that you cannot compare historic p/e with prospective p/e, because there was such a massive split when Healthcare was divested.

The amounts presented by the company are for Continuing operations and Adjusted results excludes the Consumer Healthcare business discontinued operation. The amounts
presented in the results for discontinued EPS are for the demerger of the Consumer Healthcare business

As investors are primarily interested a company's future profits, it is common to calculate the PE based on forecast earnings. The PE calculated using the previous financial year's earnings is called the historical PE.

The PE (price earnings) ratio is the share price divided by the earnings per share so you have the information to hand after all!

WSJ say they calculated 3.5% on Friday so could be right

WSJ says GSK has the lowest PE ratio in FTSE 100
3.95 PE

Google says its about 12 Advfn about 16.

Either way the Dividend Yield is about 6.5% which isn't bad.

But which PE ratio is right?

Is it about 3.5? or is it about 12?
