28/10/2021 14:39 | another 19p in Jan and a final 23p in Apr. Makes holding an undervalued stock a tad less painful. | jonjoneil

28/10/2021 12:30 | Thanks TM. Always good to see how an expert operates. | jonjoneil
28/10/2021 12:23 | Well, it demonstrates to colleagues here that its never wrong to take a profit! Its OK to have a core holding and keep a smaller amount in reserve to take advantage of the normal cycling of prices (I do this quite often). With the results coming up and with the budget looming, I wanted to be in a position to buy back in should the price have fallen. In the event, the market seems to have supported the results (which is a relief!), so hopefully its onwards and upwards for us all! | tradermichael
28/10/2021 12:09 | Sorry TM, I didn't know about your 'tsunami'. So why did you bother to report selling a few tiddlers? What was your point, if I may ask? | jonjoneil
28/10/2021 11:56 | Hi abdullla, You are correct! My recent sells were an 'overflow' (good term!), and I sold them to tidy up my accounts ahead of the 'split'. Nevertheless, they made a nice little short-term profit (plus dividends), and I'm happy with that, as I don't consider these sales as premature. My 'tsunami' shares (44,000 GSK shares) are programmed to sell when the price is right on the way up to the split, or soon after. Its a dynamic that I will vary as news and the price develop, and they certainly won't be ejected prematurely either! | tradermichael
28/10/2021 11:22 | I'm currently planning to retain both companies pending management changes, corporate activity and/or improved performance. Nothing guaranteed of course but in this case I'm prepared to be accused of cakeism. No useful insights I'm afraid as I've been out of those circles for a long time. | patientcapital
28/10/2021 11:01 | PC, what is your call here if you don't mind saying?, thanks. | essentialinvestor
28/10/2021 10:59 | ICI actually spun off Zeneca which then took over Astra. At the time it was fashionable to switch the Zeneca into the old ICI which was subsequently taken over. My team and I did the opposite for our clients which has performed considerably better. | patientcapital
28/10/2021 10:57 | MenoPorsche gone very quiet, eh. | essentialinvestor

28/10/2021 10:38 | I think TM sold an overflow of his GSK shares not his 50K shares Gold pot,IMO | abdullla
28/10/2021 10:33 | Ah monty, i thought you might appear as you always do after a decent price rise or price fall. As reliable as a swiss cuckoo clock, just after a big fall you've just shorted, and just after a big rise you've just gone long. Well done mate. | pierre oreilly
28/10/2021 10:30 | Will be the best thing the split, ICI split off Astra around 1500p, then they bought Zeneca now a Pharma powerhouse.Short GSK at you're peril. | montyhedge
28/10/2021 10:04 | I was joking! I'm a long suffering long! | spoole5
28/10/2021 10:01 | PI Shorters who haven't voluntarily closed will be forcibly closed soon. Short institutions will hit stops and close. | pierre oreilly
28/10/2021 10:00 | Anyone shorting GSK so close to the split is arguably taking on larger risk than normal, it makes little sense on a risk/reward basis. Yes if yesterday's Q results had been dire there may have been some downside, but as were stronger than expected it left those short very exposed. Obvs none of us know the future. | essentialinvestor
28/10/2021 09:44 | and a thought for TM who ejected prematurely ;) | jonjoneil
28/10/2021 09:39 | Spoole mentioned 13s yesterday, no news from Porsce1945 today GLA | charlie9038
28/10/2021 09:26 | No controlling shares, no board position, no influence. Our thoughts go to Monty at this terrible time for shorters. | pierre oreilly
28/10/2021 09:26 | 15 quid??! | spoole5
28/10/2021 09:17 | Oh the dreaded Glaxo retrace! You can almost bet your house on it. Could this be the day....? | jonjoneil |
