18/5/2021 15:39 | Selling the excellent brands in the consumer side started years ago. How can we believe that drugs will make up for this loss of income stream?. How many years will it be before they restore a comparable dividend? '09 September 2013: GSK reaches agreement to divest Lucozade and Ribena for £1.35 billion GSK today announced it has reached agreement to sell its nutritional drinks brands Lucozade and Ribena to Suntory Beverage & Food Ltd. Issued: London UK – LSE Announcement GlaxoSmithKline (LSE:GSK) today announced it has reached agreement to sell its nutritional drinks brands Lucozade and Ribena to Suntory Beverage & Food Ltd (SBF), the Japanese consumer goods company, for £1.35 billion in cash. It is expected that the transaction will be completed by the end of the year, subject to regulatory approvals.' I bought this as an income stock. The divi. has been supported by cash coming in from the consumer division.. The future of GSK as an income stock looks dire. May cut my losses on this. I go for income and growth but have some pure growth stocks in the Hydrogen economy. | zeppo
18/5/2021 15:36 | Somewhere around 50-55 it’s been well flagged | daneswooddynamo
18/5/2021 15:32 | Abdulla. No chance that the post split divi will be 80p...No chance at all. Cash flow alone of the Pharm division wont support much of a divi, and most of the debt will be lumped with the Consumer divi, where all the cash flow is.~ Upside though is M&A - both new divisions will be tempting targets. | geckotheglorious
18/5/2021 15:23 | Two separate divis. | abdullla
18/5/2021 15:21 | After the split I think there will be two separate divisions equating to 80p,same as now . | abdullla
18/5/2021 14:38 | TM, GSK demerger/split could go the same way as AT&T yesterday.today. Dividend being cut significantly as a result of the demerger of Media division. GSK's divi will fall in similar fashion in my view. | geckotheglorious
18/5/2021 12:44 | TM - £18 with EW at the helm and £22 without the incumbent. spud | spud

18/5/2021 12:30 | Yes good read, interesting 300 isa millionaires out there, including myself, I would say GSK is a core holding in a isa portfolio. | montyhedge
18/5/2021 12:18 | Worth a read:- | markbelluk
18/5/2021 12:11 | Having sold his shares monty still has 19p in his tax free isa bag on thurs. He sure is a genius investor! | spoole5
18/5/2021 11:52 | TM,"but sold out some time before the split" that is a line from our famous poster you know who ! | abdullla
18/5/2021 11:40 | What about ICI who split off Zeneca at 1500p what a winner that turn out to be.They merged with Astra the rest is history. | montyhedge
18/5/2021 11:31 | Yes, I well remember the VOD 'corporate action'! I had a very large stake, but sold out some time before the split. I was able to preserve my cash and get some gains (including many years of nice dividends) It was too messy for my comfort. Most of my money is now in GSK and it will take some careful watching to make sure history does not repeat itself. 1750 will do for me, but I've always thought 2200 was achievable. | tradermichael
18/5/2021 11:20 | I still have the scars from the Vodafone/vzw split,130 Billion dollars deal but share holders got nothing out of it,money lost in shares consolidation. | abdullla
18/5/2021 11:15 | I thought elliot had no influence at all for the several reasons you told us about 4500 times last week? | pierre oreilly
18/5/2021 11:11 | If at the June dividend policy review, they say something like dividend should remain intact, then I think back to 1550p, investors hate uncertainty. With Elliott breathing down the necks of directors, the board will come up with a ace card. In the meantime another 19p in the isa tax free bag, ex div this Thursday. | montyhedge
18/5/2021 11:04 | Maybe the one part is sold off/acquired to negate the complex issue of listing two separate entities. Open tax issues and allocating the IP are just two of the easier items if split. ;) (Remain long). | alphorn
18/5/2021 10:57 | So GSK split up worth around 1800p, I would have thought 2100p. | montyhedge
18/5/2021 10:53 | Correct TM,a bit of tongue in cheek on my part ! | abdullla
18/5/2021 10:42 | Nationalisation???? Is Corbyn the Prime Minister? They will continue to have headquarters in the UK and to be listed as two British companies in the London Stock Exchange. | tradermichael
18/5/2021 10:22 | It will be nationalised before that . | abdullla
18/5/2021 10:07 | LEX FT - Liberum values sum of parts @ £86Bn 25% upside | markbelluk
18/5/2021 09:50 | Ah well I will still have the next 3 dividends to come ! | abdullla |
