12/8/2022 17:05 | They may well have planted documents, Phillis. Why else did they refuse to allow Trump's lawyers to observe the search? They made them wait outside. We already know they tried to impeach Trump on the basis of totally made up allegations in a dossier created for and paid for by the democrats and fed to the FBI by a democrat paid source. | rose_by_another_name
12/8/2022 17:01 | "A source close to the former president expressed concern that FBI agents or DOJ lawyers conducting the search could have “planted stuff” because they would not allow Trump’s attorneys inside the 128-room building to observe the operation, which lasted more than nine hours." "The boxes contain documents and mementos from Trump’s presidency, reportedly including letters from Barack Obama and Kim Jong Un, and other correspondence with world leaders." "A legal source said that the boxes had been packed up by the General Services Administration and shipped to Mar-a- Lago when Trump left office in January 2020." "Trump’s attorneys, led by Evan Corcoran, had been cooperating fully with federal authorities on the return of the documents to the National Archives and Records Administration, according to sources." "In May, Corcoran granted access into Mar-a-Lago’s windowless storage room to FBI agents who spent several hours searching through the boxes." nypost dot com/2022/08/09/fbi-e | rose_by_another_name
12/8/2022 16:58 | So now they have planted info You couldn’t make it up | phillis
12/8/2022 16:42 | He had them as president. There is a rule, not a law, that he isn't supposed to retain documents, but it isn't a crime for him to have kept them. They aren't current documents, just stuff he had, properly, when he was in office. If they exist. The real question is why the FBI felt they needed to raid his home. It looks like a show- the sort of thing they did to Rudy Giuliani just because he was Trump’s personal lawyer. He was subjected to a secret warrant so the FBI could spy on his cloud for months before raiding him early in the morning and seizing all his devices. They charged him with nothing, returned all his property 15 months later and quietly closed the supposed investigation into alleged foreign lobbying violations. The process is the punishment. "Donald Trump calls nuclear docs claim a ‘hoax’" "“Nuclear weapons issue is a Hoax, just like Russia, Russia, Russia was a Hoax, two Impeachments were a Hoax, the Mueller investigation was a Hoax, and much more,” Trump posted to Truth Social Friday morning." “Same sleazy people involved. Why wouldn’t the FBI allow the inspection of areas at Mar-a-Lago with our lawyers, or others, present. Made them wait outside in the heat, wouldn’t let them get even close – said ‘ABSOLUTELY NOT,’” Trump went on, before again suggesting that federal agents might have planted information during the search." nypost dot com/2022/08/12/donal | rose_by_another_name
12/8/2022 16:24 | R You don’t have to read the NYT to work that one out But what happens if nuclear docs ( or any others that shouldn’t be there) are found What do the Trumpists say then? | phillis
12/8/2022 16:04 | "New York Times columnist David Brooks fears the FBI raid will ‘re-elect Donald Trump’" "The New York Times columnist David Brooks worried Thursday the FBI's raid of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home will help his chances of electoral victory in 2024. Brooks further argued Trump's main message is that societal elites are ruining America, and that there is a lot of truth in that." "He continued, "They are out to get Trump because Trump is the person who stands up to them. They are not only out to get Trump; they are out to get you."" | rose_by_another_name
