15/6/2021 10:57 | Sage, you've made a mistake, he doesn't deal in fact only subterfuge. There is a woman at the swimming pool I use a most distasteful woman no-one talks to her but thinking about it she and Slug are one of the the same type of person. Wherever you go there's always one plus the couple of hangers on. You could lay it out A, B,C style and he will still contradict you. The more people vaccinated the lesser the chance the virus has to get a grip. Its quite simple really for normal people to grasp. Zoo | zooman
15/6/2021 10:45 | oh dear! More dividends today from CEY | phillis
15/6/2021 10:39 | OK Rose I will spell it out. You say that 29 of the 42 deaths had already been vaccinated. You fail to understand that the 42 is far lower than it would have been and that the sample is already impacted by vaccines. The vaccines give 80% protection and 90% of deaths were previously in over 50 year olds. To quote numbers with no context in terms of age profile is meaningless. The point is that far fewer people are getting ill - FACT. Also the deaths caused by vaccines themselves are lower than if you took a long distance flight - FACT. | sageman
15/6/2021 10:18 | One has to enjoy the furious complaints about this subject being off-topic for the board, while everyone who is complaining posts their views on it. | rose_by_another_name
15/6/2021 10:16 | You are missing the fact that the percentages are not of the population as a whole, but only those hospitalised. The proportion of those dying is higher amongst the vaccinated than the proportion of vaccinated hospitalised in the first place. Also your 71% includes those who have had one jab, so not really unvaccinated. If you are going to bring age and other vulnerabilities into it, where are the actual figures? You are guessing. In the meantime, it would seem that vaccination is only partially protective, and there are still people dying from its side effects. | rose_by_another_name
15/6/2021 10:08 | Sage, ARP everyday he posts this cut and paste rubbish. The content is immaterial to him its about attention seeking and this is the current vehicle he's using given Trump is now history and everything he posted about him would happen but never materialised. A total waste of space. Zoo | zooman
15/6/2021 09:37 | Rose your inability to analyze data is shocking. Prior to the vaccines circa 90% of deaths were in the over 50@s and vulnerable groups. As ARP says the evidence is clear cut but don't let the facts get in the way of a good story! | sageman
15/6/2021 09:19 | R - The headline figure you quoted simply confirms the effectiveness of the vaccine. Only 29% of the deaths occur in the the large vaccinated group, which includes the elderly and those most at risk, whereas 71% occur in the smaller less vulnerable group. The figures speak for themselves, it really is very clear cut. | arphillips
15/6/2021 09:10 | You have missed the significance of the figures, ARP. If you look at the charts in the article, The unvaccinated represent about a quarter of the population as a whole, and are indeed about two thirds of those hospitalised with the D variant, as they are now calling it, with the fully vaccinated accounting for only about an eighth (the rest are partially vaccinated). So it is indeed infecting proportionately more of the unvaccinated than the vaccinated. HOWEVER, when it comes to those subsequently dying, the proportion of the fully vaccinated rises to about a third, with the single jab recipients bringing that to almost half. Where is the reduction in severity of the disease that the vaccine is meant to confer? Those not vaccinated would seem to have a higher survival rate, though they are more likely to catch the disease. | rose_by_another_name
15/6/2021 08:55 | Well put ARP.Zoo | zooman
15/6/2021 08:50 | R - Considering the majority of the population most at risk from covid have been vaccinated twice then you are always going to get some deaths in this group. The unvaccinated, a far smaller less vulnerable group, has suffered a mortality rate nearly two and half times greater. The statistics you quote therefore emphatically confirm the effectiveness of the vaccine. Whether you chose to be vaccinated is entirely your choice but I'm afraid you cannot refute the effectiveness of the vaccine. | arphillips
15/6/2021 08:40 | I see that you still haven't got up to date, zoo, despite my best efforts, so I repeat: "Study shows 29% of the 42 people who have died after catching the new strain had BOTH vaccinations" So not just the unvaccinated catching it, and not just the unvaccinated dying of it. | rose_by_another_name
15/6/2021 08:20 | AMT when they introduce the vaccine passports I feel the short fall will be taken up. Leaving the socially selfish likes of Slug to catch it.Zoo | zooman

15/6/2021 06:52 | Alan, your "lost" posters should get together with you and the other complainers on one of the many other Griffin forums on ADVFN. Plenty to choose from. Why you stay here where you are so unhappy is beyond me. | rose_by_another_name
15/6/2021 05:21 | "Joy of being in the Land of the Free: It's got lower jab rates than the UK... but as we stay in limbo, the US is almost fully open" "What is particularly fascinating is that the states which relaxed their restrictions earliest — and they are generally Republican — have proved wrong the doomsayers who predicted dire consequences." | rose_by_another_name
14/6/2021 22:27 | Interesting that latest data shows double vaccination is over 90% effective. So wreckless not to get double vaccinated. | amt
14/6/2021 21:14 | zoo, it’s about time he was squashed for good he is not a bit of use to anybody on here he’s been doing this for years it’s no wonder some really good posters have gone , to think we’ve lost them but still have him ,no justice at all, I’m hoping for a better day tomorrow ,good luck, | alangriffbang
14/6/2021 20:45 | The only thing Slug that you have credit for is destroying the BB.You have no financial savvy what so ever. | zooman |
