So filter. Your complaints are bogus,
and you can only speak for yourself.
If YOU aren't interested, don't read
and don't respond.

sage thank you for your usual good advice the bank and my solicitor are working on it now, I feel the same way I had no idea as well, the bottom line is I’ve reached my age where I need so very little ,I have a super three bed two Bath flat ,I have a car I enjoy my share dealing , I’ve travelled the world several times I now need nothing ,this is the reason I am offloading all or most of it to really close friends , there will still be a huge chunk when I die to cover all taxes ,thank you for your advice, I am also going to give quite a bit to the stroke association they have to find better treatment for this, my wife always supported the Battersea dogs and cats home so they will get a donation as well, good luck to you,

Alan , I remember some years ago talking with a widow who had inherited shares from her husband. She said that she hadn't touched them in 10 years as he had selected them. I asked her about her husband and she said that he was an active investor who traded "all the time". I told her that in that case he would probably be screaming at her to sell certain holdings. After due consideration she agreed and thereafter we rebuilt her portfolio according to her needs and tax situation. I am sure that you are not in the exact same position but many people are.

Alan, I am not sure what your situation is in terms of IHT (not my business). However, you can use BPR to get holdings out of your estate in 2 years. You can do Aim ISA's that qualify for BPR. I went to a seminar today on Octopus who do their Titan ISA. Actually some Octopus products not only get money out of your estate in 2 years but you also get 30% income tax relief. As a wealthy person I am sure that you get good quality advice but if you need a hand let me know.

The A my wife had masses of these , when I inherited her entire portfolio when she died coming up to four years ago it was worth six million on today’s figures it’s now worth six point nine million which is not bad going seeing I haven’t touched it all this time ,she was a fantastic investor and if she is up there now and can see my portfolio she would fall apart laughing, I had no idea until she died what she had, and having a massive stroke was the worst outcome ,thanks and good luck to you,

Alan

I'm surprised that you take out a separate ISA each year. You could simply have one single ISA trading account that you top up each year.

I began trading in PEPs in 1995, after reading Jim Slater's "PEP up your wealth". This was subsequently rolled into Gordon Brown's ISA scheme. Had I taken out a separate PEP/ISA each year I would now have a nightmarish 26 of the blighters to juggle with. It's none of my business but if I were you I'd get on to my broker and instruct him to roll them all up into a single account.
