"The sooner people realise governments only have what
they collect in taxes then they will blame Trump."

Yeah, that only happened since Trump became president.

Actually though, governments have the ability to raise
money though debt, by issuing bonds. Then they inflate
the currency before they have to pay the bonds back.
It's like a tax, but hurts the money men more than the
wage earner.

Alan, people will wake up over there and smell the coffee soon enough when they realise there's no jobs no money no security and they will have to pay for it all. The sooner people realise governments only have what they collect in taxes then they will blame Trump.I see SVE is down may have a top up at some point. Nice to see the market is up but what will happen later' Will the markets like what Trump is doing? I'm pleased most of my income is protected against income tax and NI. Given that this years ISA has provided very well so far. Would be nice to get out of paying VAT which I can see going up. :-(Back to sunbathing (working ) on the boat. :-). Zoo

A bodger was a skilled maker of
components in the furniture industry
centered on High Wycombe. Not a
carpenter. They worked out in the
woods using a pole lathe. When the
local industry collapsed, the newly
unemployed bodgers sought whatever
work they could get, occupations for
which they had no experience, so the
word took on an opprobrious association.

You may have furniture in your house that
was partly made by a bodger. Older chairs
in particular. I certainly do.

Yes it comes from carpentry but in your case its not meant like that. You are just failure. No wonder you don't get on with your dad.

Maybe Rose you shouldn't make assumptions and post in a condescending manner. His business is his business I didn't read that he was asking for your advice, in fact he said he had you on ignore because you're a troll. (Yes another one) also given by your own admission you don't own any GGP shares directly but are in SVE maybe you should post on there. A bit like what you say about iii posters. Or does that not apply to you troll? Maybe you should stay with fixing punctures and cutting you own hair, or should I say bodging!

Yup, that is what I suggested that he do,
check it out. I even gave him a link. And
I asked that someone else relay the message
as he claims to be filtering me.

I can't see any basis for your objection,
other than sheer antipathy towards me.

I think its a play on words that a failed proof reader has missed. :-))

Most people will check things out rather than take anything from a known Troll. Enjoy talking to your hand off to the boat.

Relevent line:

"so I'm well into the CGT exemption on AIM shares!"

There is no CGT exemption on AIM shares. There used
to be, but it was withdrawn 12 years ago. I remember
because it affected my holding in GFM.

If he has moved his shares to an ISA, why is he talking
about the non-existent "CGT exemption on AIM shares"?
All shares in an ISA are exempt from CGT.

You are really wriggling hard, but the bird has you
firmly in his beak.

It wasn't advice. Just a correction of
a post that referred to a now withdrawn
tax break. Napoleon's personal circumstances
have no bearing on the fact that business
asset taper relief is no longer available on
AIM shares, and has not been since 2008.

When you say "so called" advice, it is only
you who are calling it that. I posted a link
to a site that expounds the issue in detail.
There are many such pages.
