25/2/2020 12:05 | Hi Alan, I couldn't resist another nibble at 52.5 on Lloyds. I see GFM is now falling as expected. It needs to retest support (IMHO). Good to see gold being highlighted but the virus and zinc price are dominant factors at this time. Anyone who had followed my thoughts re the virus and how to protect your portfolio should be sitting pretty unscathed today looking for opportunities. | sageman
25/2/2020 09:32 | Hi Alan, Per MWF I think Lloyds at this price (55 and below) is a steal. The worsening virus news has played into your hand with your ISA not investable until Monday.I like to nibble and Lloyds is still falling. The 12 month low is 48. I will be buying some more later but am in no hurry. | sageman
25/2/2020 09:12 | Alan, the morning after the party but in this case the bloodbath. I'm going to watch and see how things go given we could have more to come. Zoo | zooman
25/2/2020 09:03 | Morning zoo ,nothing much happening at the moment ,Lloyd’s down again will have a look at it after lunch ,re neuron is up a bit ,zinc down again, nobody seems to want it ,have a good morning , | alangriffbang
24/2/2020 21:39 | Dow Jones down over a thousand , | alangriffbang
24/2/2020 19:10 | Thank you millwallfan it almost came down to tossing a coin in the end ,I do realise that they have a lot of foreign labourers , and they might not fit the criteria by not earning enough when they block people coming in ,I do hope that they think again about care, most of them were foreign on minimum wage they were wonderful to my wife and worked so hard ,of course if the wages went up so would the fees ,going back to lloyds I could buy some anyway ,I have sufficient capitol out of the market where I could buy some .invest direct either have it as a weak hold or a weak buy I can’t remember ,mind you one bank giving advise on another won’t be very positive , the gold shares I am in are doing very well at the moment ,but gold is very fickle and can turn on a sixpence ,I am aware of your comments about Serabi ,I just cannot tell you what will happen to it ,if you are in them then I hope it goes up , bango is another funny share it only takes a bit of news and it rockets ,as for GFM I don’t have a good feeling about it at all but am happy to keep watch ,good luck to you and thank you for your interesting post , | alangriffbang
24/2/2020 18:41 | Hi all. Great to see Griffin static today when everything else down almost across the board. Alan - just some personal thoughts as I know you are a seasoned investor who appreciates a diversity of views. IMVHO, if I had £20k today I would have bought Lloys versus Tw. I hold both but in reality I think TW are currently very close to the top of their range - I was in at £2 but thankfully topped up below £1.40 at the peak of Brexit fever. On the other hand I can see no reason that the Coronavirus fright today should have affected Lloyd’s who were already (imho) at the bottom of their range following the relatively poor results. TW does have some risks in terms of labour and material cost inflation going forward. It will be very interesting for you to keep track and calculate just for fun in exactly one years time which would have been the best investment today. The TW dividend is very good and when the share price was sub£1.50 represented over 10% return whereas Lloyd’s is probably only 5-6 percent, but I do feel the capital growth potential for Lloyd’s into the medium term - they were almost 90p post the leave vote and that was when PPI was at its peak. In conclusion I would expect 25 - 50% increase in the Lloyd’s share price in 18-24 months whereas I just cannot see TW getting to £3 plus in that time. I hope you did jump in Serabi when we exchanged comments a couple of months ago - the fundamentals looked amazing when the share price was in the 60p range 94p now I think. Whatever happens going forward I wish you all the very best as always. | millwallfan
24/2/2020 16:01 | Alan, Sunrise is still glowing, happy to wait to see if it falls anymore. TW is good given that more houses are required. Interesting programme? on the radio when I was driving to Dorset regarding building new homes etc on green sites. I thought the government had changed the VAT rules on brown field sites, but it seems not. Build a new house on a brown field site (land that has been built on before) and you can't claim the vat back. If this is the case Boris needs to pull his finger out.Zoo | zooman
24/2/2020 15:06 | Hi zoo , very good day except for the banks have just invested my full isa in Taylor Wimpey ,I had wrestled my mind with Lloyd’s bank but invest direct make Taylor Wimpey one of there best buys and thats why I have gone with them ,I think the rise in gold shares today have helped to par down the losses in everything else ,have you invested in sunshine yet ,have a good day and don’t make to many people laugh! | alangriffbang
24/2/2020 14:37 | They also tried to make out that the Spitfire lignite mine was a gold play. | rose_by_another_name
24/2/2020 14:11 | Nice to see Gold at 1680. Even more so after the latest RNS describing GFM as a zinc and gold miner. | up just a little bit
24/2/2020 11:58 | UP, you're full of the joys of spring today :-)Zoo | zooman
24/2/2020 11:51 | Increased throughput will help (if and when it actually occurs) but until the smelter discount is confirmed best not to touch with a bargepole | phillis
24/2/2020 11:49 | Zoo, Most stocks are looking like they are in a slaughter house today. Fear, greed, rumours and a virus that kills less than 3%of those that are infected. Flu kills 200,000 each year. IAG down about 8%,GFM Holding. Funny old world. | up just a little bit
24/2/2020 09:39 | UP, not really. We know the results won't be that good, the best thing they can do is clear the decks then build on the positives i.e production of zinc and gold and the grades. The fly in the ointment is the licence and virus to name a few. I don't need to try to push it down given the MMs will do that as soon as they get wind of good news. They will drop the price very quickly in order to fish on the stop losses and fear, they always do. You only have to look at GGP they are doing all of the time and quite savagely at times. So no games here.Zoo | zooman
24/2/2020 09:13 | Still a little naughty there Zoo. Still trying to get a tad better re entry price I see! | up just a little bit
24/2/2020 08:56 | Yes zoo , I can’t possibly buy back into this at the present time ,but will keep an eye on it ,GGP and shanta doing very well today ,the market is down a lot ,I am off out soon and will have to make a decision about Lloyd’s when I get home later ,all the banks are down today ,have a good morning , | alangriffbang
24/2/2020 08:28 | Alan, looking at the trades or should I say trade not much happening the RNS will help reduce the rate the share will slip. The best thing Griffin can do now will be to get the Y/E results out quicker and get them out of the way given they will be poor rather than do the norm and push them well into the year. Somehow I doubt they will though.RNS on GGP this morning.Zoo | zooman
24/2/2020 08:05 | Operations restarted but POZ down again. Unlike the last few announcements, Griffin are now calling it the "Caijiaying Zinc Gold mine." Maybe they should drop the "zinc". Centamin is up to £1.60 today. | rose_by_another_name
23/2/2020 07:58 | It’s a spam and it’s on many sites ,why bother , | alangriffbang
23/2/2020 02:12 | So in everyone else's absence I will also thank you. | up just a little bit
22/2/2020 16:33 | No just a modest amount given that I could end up holding longer than anticipated.Zoo | zooman
22/2/2020 14:35 | You would have to buy a lot to make it worthwhile ,how about a £20000 ISA ( only joking ) , | alangriffbang |
