05/6/2024 20:25 | Maybe a few more will dip in again | richtea2517
05/6/2024 16:34 | Interesting insider purchase at GNC with Alastair Murray adding 30k @ 169p to sit with the 40k he bought 6 months ago at 98p; maybe shows a touch of confidence. There has been steady insider buying since Sep 2022. | whittler100

01/6/2024 16:35 | Pete You could well be right. I was surprised that the BOD chose buybacks at 140p, they obviously think the share price is undervalued at that level. Come October, the share price could well be 200p, if the BOD still think its undervalued then more buybacks and happy days for us.(When the share price was under 100p, it was a no brainer to do buybacks.) I actually don't want dividends, due to the Irish withholding tax. | kelso29
30/5/2024 09:48 | Nothing wrong with my maths. Fortunately, I also have a good command of the English language and am aware of the pressure that the BOD are under from their larger shareholders, who are mostly American, and therefore favour Buybacks over Dividends. If you listened carefully to the discussion with Brokers after the HY results presentation you would know that the BOD are retaining the option of a combination of Buyback and Fividend in September. I suspect another 10 to 15 million Buyback, leaving enough over for a Final Dividend of between 1 and 2 pence. Bssed on previous lengthy experience I think the lesser of those two figures is more likely. But with a change of heart on the part of the larger shareholders, who are currently calling the shots, there might be a 2 pence Final Dividend. | pete long term investor
29/5/2024 20:02 | Pete you're not good at maths are you? The BOD have said that they are returning £50m to shareholders for the year, after £30m for buybacks, this leaves £20m for the year end dividend. By then there will be about 452m shares in issue giving a dividend of approximately 4.4p a share. | kelso29
23/5/2024 16:13 | Where's the re-entry price then? | richtea2517

21/5/2024 06:15 | EXCELLENT RESULTS | blackhorse23
20/5/2024 18:14 | Cheer up Pete for Gods sake | richtea2517
20/5/2024 15:36 | Blackhorse overly optimistic. In years when Greencore previously paid a Dividend the payout was 37% of that years profits. Do the maths and I think you will find that comes to 6.72 pence per share. Normally about 33% of that at Interim stage. So based on precedent the maximum Interim to be devlared tomorroe is 2 pence per share. At a bullish yield of 4% that will only boost the share price to £1.50. So still a potential takeover target. I am pessimistic, and expect an Interim Dividenf of 1 pence per share at most, which will depress the share price and probably see a decline to about £1.25. I hope I am wrong, but 20 years as a Greencore investor yends, not unnaturally, to induce pessimism. | pete long term investor
20/5/2024 13:30 | Results likely to be strong - hopefully raise guidance and a divi However share price might still dip on a buy the rumour sell the news basis If it dips back to 130 then buying again We shall see | richtea2517
19/5/2024 10:10 | Current voting shares divided 25 million pounds average buy back , bring to roughly 17p per share dividend if converted | blackhorse23
19/5/2024 10:07 | That's 25 million per year , currently year expectation 10% higher profits to 80-85 million pounds | blackhorse23
19/5/2024 10:06 | Over last 2 years up to date GNC has been spent 50 million pounds worth shares buy back which roughly 65 million shares out from market | blackhorse23
18/5/2024 10:34 | Afraid 2 Pence per share Interim Dividend is the most that can be expected at the present moment. Suspect it will be a lot less or possibly no Dividend and no Buyback at worst or one pence per share Interim Dividend at best. If the share price does not rise substantially on the back of what the Board have to say for themselves on Tuesday then Greencore will remain a takeover candidate. | pete long term investor |
