Not necessarily works that way. Company already bought back around 60 million shares so very limited floating left in market. group profitability better than before & Going up 10% each year YTY basis. Likely go up slowly and meantime new news about dividend & share buy back. HENCE all directors are buying heavy at this price

Why did Greencore shares drop after buybak ended ? Its the swimming naked, tide going out effect, or something similar. By. Not paying a Dividend Greencore was effectively swimming nked (no dividend, so less investor interest). Share buyback ending removes artificial spport, i.e. the tide goes out, revealing a naked company with no dividend, and so with no arificial buoyancy the share price falls. Entirely predictable.

Good data KelsoBut the business is in much better shape now with forward looking visibility showing solid return to profit and wider economy looking less volatile. In theory anyway. If it goes back to 90 i will add.

I think you are being optimistic if you think the share price will drop back to only 95p. Last time a buyback finished was 24/8/23 with the share price at 82.7p, 6 weeks later 9/10/23 the share price dropped to 68.75p. So I think sub 90p is more likely.
I don't know why shares drop after a buyback ends, I'm guessing that its institutions selling their holdings so that they keep the same percentage in the company. Also with US and Europe indices at record highs and there always seems to be a correction in March (2020 Covid, 2022 Ukraine, 2023 US regional banks), its a brave man who hasn't sold equity and moved into cash.

The company does well with its buybacks, in that with the 4 buybacks to date (totaling £50m) the company has bought back 58.5m shares (average 85.5p). The company did a placing in November 2020 of 80m shares at 112p each, so the company has gained £15.5m with these buybacks.
