Just read an interesting article regards china continuing hoarding of gold......"the highest levels, these forces appear to be understood. In December, China declared an addition to her official reserves of 30 tonnes. But Mark Bristow, the highly respected and well informed CEO of Barrick Resources revealed that his information was that China had actually acquired "in the higher 200s" tonnes of bullion in December. That the largest gold mining nation by output is selling US dollars for additional gold bullion in the international markets surely tells us something is up." No shot Sherlock!! $5000 gold anyone?

It's all very curious. The hard facts are DW if you and I bought 20M shares during next week the same number of shares and more will have been sold by Friday making not one iota of a difference to the share price It's been going on for months but since the holidays it's increased making Greatland once again this week, one of the most traded stocks on AIM today.

All these 'conspiracy' wailings and teeth gnashings ! The shares are where they are because anyone who understands the mining sector knows they are fairly valued, and its been a painful journey while longer term holders who happened on GGP early on are getting used to it. GGP doesn't 'own' a project any more so there can be no premium for the chance to sell Havieron. Its at the mercy of NCM for an income and can only be 'valued' on that basis. The trouble is no one yet knows what the income will be. The upcoming FS won't help because all it can do is project, maybe, that the income might last longer or might be more than assumed. But that won't help the shares which will be valued on near term income. What share in any other sector is valued 'more' just because its assumed will last longer ? There's a limit to how far the market looks ahead and GGP is there already.

That’s what I was trying to say Jaka.IF AND ITS A BIG IF, manipulation is taking place then our board would surely know something. Our brokers and our share registrar must know who is buying or trading these large amounts.
Parties can’t act in concert to obtain a large enough holding without informing the takeover panel.
Is all this trading being done with the consent of the board?

"The gold miners’ stocks entered this young new year strong, surging to a major upside breakout! Their latest upleg already looks powerful technically, with an ideal setup to ultimately grow to huge proportions. After bottoming at exceedingly-oversold stock-panic-grade lows, the gold stocks have blasted higher and are nearing one of their best buy signals. Sector sentiment is shifting bullish with gold also forging higher...."

I would think someone on the inside would have to help keep that under wraps with a view to them keeping or getting another job on completion.

On May 5, 2022, the U.K.’s Panel on Takeovers and Mergers (the “Panel”) published the results of a
consultation that started in December 2021 to review the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers (the
“Code”), together with proposed amendments to the Code. The amendments cover a broad range of
topics, a number of which are of particular significance for prospective bidders.
In summary, the amendments:
 require bidders to disclose in possible offer announcements whether they are obliged under the
Code to offer a minimum level, or particular form, of consideration;
 prevent bidders who have made a mandatory offer from acquiring further target shares in the
14-day period before shareholders must decide whether or not to accept the offer;
 clarify that the 12-month look-back period used for determining the price of a mandatory offer runs from the date on which the offer should have been announced; and
 reform the circumstances in which bidders can be required to make a mandatory offer by virtue
of the “chain principle”, by removing the “significant purpose test” and reducing the threshold under the “significant interest test” from 50% to 30%.
The amendments to the Code will take effect from June 13, 2022. Any ongoing transactions will be
subject to the amended provisions, except where to do so would give the amendments retroactive effect.

Well, they are insiders so to speak...of course I`ve no proof of any of this taking
place but does raise the question.
If they exercise their warrants they`ll have 14% of the company, I`d imagine 30% wont
be difficult to reach with low ball offer, after that it`s anyone's guess.

It is extremely odd and I havent seen anything like this in many years of investing on AIM, where lets face it, anything can happen.
My concern is that with this amount of manipulation, for such a continued length of time, it is being set up for a low ball takeover bid. And with the huge number of shares in circulation I'm also concerned that I wont see the returns I was once expecting....interesting nonetheless.

A few theories but I suspect the device being used to keep the stock in check is thirty odd million, and slowly increasing, shares on loan. End game, no one really knows, can't be cheap because they've been at it for months. An attempt to shake out weak retail investors? A very liquid stock so it could also be traders just day trading and laundering the stock. Drifting up on the PoG a trend to be welcomed.

Yes ... 12p would be more in kilter! So going forward expect some sharp movements in the share price, as some positive drill assays just might be the catalyst..

SKY,

Someone is hell-bent to keep this on the leash, you could see trades yesterday afternoon.
They spent a lots of time, money and energy in doing so for the last 12 months, even Xmas eve they were out with their antics.
For what purpose I`ve no idea, but it`s never a good sign...aimo.

@proton. Excellent chart set up. Shows just how manipulated GGP has been over the last year or so. Once we go thru 9p and 10p I will put the flags out!

Interesting post Pr0t0n -

Rather bizarre that over the past 6months GGP should have depreciated by c33% versus NCM/GDXJ. Looks as though GGP may be starting to move forward; however so are the other two, so gap still to be closed...

Who knows maybe it can go higher in time, the 30% to keep was a result abd a mistake by newcrest unless a full takeover is on the cards
