29/10/2007 07:45 | Yes, a surprise! Now ~£25M MC with £17M cash. Tristan to spud soon. And what's this from the RNS? Granby has sought to optimise the value that can be obtained in the medium term and is ready to reinvest some of the proceeds in financing our third development, which we aim to announce shortly. Didn't someone (Des?) suggest recently the potential for Granby to increase their WI, take over operatorship and speed up appraisal drilling at Monkwell gas dicovery, where one well 42/29-6 tested at 26.8 mmcfpd in 1989 and two further wells also tested gas? | sranmal
29/10/2007 07:27 | That is a real surprise!! Not holding any of these, but did in the past. This looks like a good deal. | hyper al
29/10/2007 07:09 | wow .. they've sold Galoc !! | deswalker
26/10/2007 11:09 | See here: My personal expectation is a multiple of today's share price by 2Q2008, dependent on both production assets coming on-stream. Further on, depends on whether they (and farm-out partners) have any success with their explo acreage. | sranmal
25/10/2007 21:36 | what are the short/med and long term share price expectations? | spurberry
19/10/2007 09:28 | Also, Nido are releasing weekly updates of the Galoc drilling. Last one (17 Oct) has a nice pic at the end of the drilling progress: | sranmal
19/10/2007 07:35 | Tristan NW - Operational Update and Booking of Reserves ... Highlights: Ø First phase of development operations of the Tristan NW Field now completed Ø Increase in booked reserves to 4.4 million boe from 1.9 million boe Ø Construction and tie-in agreement for transportation and processing of gas to the Davy platform also completed Ø First gas production from Tristan NW field expected Q1 2008 ... "We are very pleased to have made such good progress with development operations and to have executed the construction and tie in agreement. The addition of Tristan NW gas more than doubles Granby's current booked reserves to 4.2 million barrels of oil equivalent, and we are looking forward to our first production early in 2008."... Got to be worth a bob on the share price rgds lowerSharpnose | lowersharpnose

12/10/2007 08:12 | Here is a map of Poland showing the location of Blocks 106 and 107. It's not up-to-date as other companies have since been awarded certain blocks (eg FX Energy in the six blocks from 122 to 144) but at least it shows the position relative to everything else. More info from GOIL in due course no doubt. | deswalker
12/10/2007 07:54 | Excellent news this morning. | deswalker
12/10/2007 06:56 | Last time me a check - GOIL have a pure dry holes. If e want for da non operated assets dis play be pure dusters. Only gas a dem got is da gas dem swap wiv DNX for da dry hole. All holders who be locked in always rate der own shares. Chaaaa. | rim job
11/10/2007 23:05 | 2Jimmys I've traded in and out of FPM a few times over the last few years and have recently sold following the latest mini-spike. I like the acreage and the Norway position but I don't like the management team much. As you say it's a chunky market cap to be fiddling with small shares in gas wells so they need to get their finger out and I'm not sure Mr Stewart is the right man for the job. I think I'll rely on my DNX holding for my FPM exposure going forward now that the CGT rules have changed against AIM shares. I think DNX has quite a bit further to run on a number of explo fronts. I've never fancied AFR for some reason (probably political and management concerns iirc) and COP is one I don't know at all. Hope they work out for you. Des | deswalker
11/10/2007 12:25 | Thanks Des Also surprised at reaction to sranmal's post, then again I thought there would have been more from start of drilling at Galoc..but then it was hardly unexpected news. Also hold FPM, strangely enough with a small gas field and a chunky market cap! AFR AND COP, however GOIL my largest by a bit. Should be a bit of news about with two developments ongoing over the coming months to keep us Northbound. Cheers, your posts make interesting reading, & good luck to you | 2jimmys
11/10/2007 11:48 | Welcome 2Jimmys. Must say I'm surprised sranmal's TMF post didn't generate further interest but if all goes to plan over the next six months then the share price will surely be much higher. As I'm sure you are aware, there are many oilers out there with pretty chunky market caps (circa £100 mill and higher) but with zero production or a few small gas wells. Most look like absolute garbage to me inspite of their respective fan-clubs and exotic sounding but (at best) gas-prone acreage (yuck). This is different IMO and is a long term investment for me. Good luck :) | deswalker
11/10/2007 11:27 | Having watched these for the past 18 months or so, I finally bought in at 66.5p and latterly 55p. The potential c. 2850 boepd production in a relatively short time spell being such, that I could forgive their lack of explo success. I plan to be in for the longer term given that the forthcoming production makes GOIL far less risky than other small cap's without production. SURELY they will hit something with the drill bit, the odds of probability alone would suggest this! Anyone hazard a guess where we will be after Galoc start up and the Ensco 100 ever turns up to complete Tristan? | 2jimmys
08/10/2007 07:54 | GOIL RNS out. | deswalker
08/10/2007 07:29 | According to Nido, Galoc 3 spudded at 1am local time on Sunday. | deswalker
30/9/2007 21:14 | An excellent write-up by sranmal ... | deswalker
29/9/2007 13:45 | Info about 2/3a and 2/4b (33.33% GOIL) ... | deswalker
27/9/2007 18:31 | Des, I fully agree with you & keep buying every time we hit a low; But I think they will be undervalued until they get a good strike, which will happen, I hope!! dreggs | dreggspicker |
