On the Printing.com page there now appears to be only 176 stores in the uk. Does this indicate that w3p is being succesful as it is reducing the reliance of the printing from the company. Will we see the company just going sideways as the uk economy starts to grow once again. Views please

Hardman and Co monthly report 3rd sept Grafenia (GRA) Grafenia is keeping the developmental initiative in an industry which has to innovate. At the same time, the operations are cash generative. Grafenia's platform is in place for it to take on work from other, maybe smaller, printers who would benefit from the design platform it has developed. More and more small printing companies need to sell online and have customers designing online interactively. Software as a service is now in place and links in with the formerly developed Templatecloud.com. At the moment, it is not through the 'J-curve' into profits, hence the estimates on a downward trend. This trend is not set to continue for a further meaningful period of time but quantifying the size and indeed the timing is not easy and the traditional market remains challenging. The shares reflect this, less so the potential created by the strategy. There has been an investment over a number of years and specifically in the year to March 2013 staff costs rose by 8% and equated to 23.4% of sales, up from 20.5%. The results announcement stated: "The increase in staff costs reflected the investment in the establishment and development of the new sales channels." 39% of sales are overseas and the expansion in online software functionality, interaction and the W3P package is acting on an established internationalised platform. Grafenia is established in a number of overseas territories (including Benelux, France, USA, New Zealand and elsewhere). W3P This also translates the Templatecloud.com (crowd sourced library of templates microbusinesses can use to design print artwork) into an income stream. The faster the growth – for 2013 and 2014 – the lower the profits, though clearly the 'J-curve' into profits growth will come through

From Printweek`s Power 100 2013 Place 60 down from 55 last year. Why Tony Rafferty is tough: when not skiing the black runs he's negotiating a market every bit as stomach churning. Pre-tax profits slid nearly 29% in the year to 31 March but colleagues swear by his commercial acumen and exacting standards. Rafferty is "restless, visionary and a challenge to work with," says one on the chief executive who recently renamed his company to reflect its graphic scope. "In some ways it would be easier if Tony weren't so heavily into innovation, but it's uncanny how he can make the complex simple." Rafferty, also an accomplished cook, is "a driven man who demands the best", which may be to come

Surely it can't just be the name change that has accounted for the price rise? Certainly not! A name change is often a sign of management desperation and, at least in my unfortunate experience, is a precursor for a price fall. No, I think the rise is just an overdue correction.

Orchestralis, thank you for setting up this new thread. Surely it can't just be the name change that has accounted for the price rise? I always thought (hoped?) the share price fall was overdone. Maybe now that there are signs that the economy is at least stabilising investors see a better future for the company. Either that or there is confidence that the initiatives they have taken are going to pay off.
