08/4/2005 15:10 | Edited Press Release LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Grasshopper Investments, which has been formed for the purpose of investing in strategic and special situations and providing the opportunity of financing unquoted companies seeking a public quotation, said Wednesday that it plans to float on AIM. The Directors have established the Company with a view to offering shareholders the opportunity to benefit from a focussed special situation approach applied by a team with considerable fund management and investment experience. Grasshopper will seek to invest in companies for one of two reasons: either the investment holds strategic value, or more likely, it represents a strong value opportunity given various special situation characteristics. As the Directors believe that the future for general equity markets is becoming more volatile, the Directors intend to invest in specific companies with the desired characteristics rather than seeking to pursue a sector based investment strategy. Nevertheless, the Directors believe that certain sectors such as technology will prove to be attractive, whilst the natural resource sector may still provide selective opportunities. The company's nominated adviser is Grant Thornton Corporate Finance and broker is Christows. | techtrend | |
