I think we will have another Up day today, particularly with Wednesday's
statement reiterating that results are ahead of market expetations.

Thanks for the link ZOG, the recent new contact win looks very encouraging and business is obviously buoyant accoss the Group, judging by that summary.

Never seen it, but the Old Magistrates Court sounds like an ideal location for one of those TV posh flat development programmes.

Recently added to their web site is an interesting summary of GHH business and activities from a magazine article based on an interveiw with Gareth Jones, the CEO:-

It gives a very positive spin to the recent increases in product demand (Q-switches and other acousto-optic devices) and the desire of the company to expand, particularly in Europe.

I hope that the forthcoming results might also bring news of the long-awaited relocation of the UK factory/offices from the centre of Ilminster. It seems likely that the "Old Magistrates Court" premesis could be sold for re-development at a premium to its book value (and thus help pay for the new factory).

The decline in the dollar should be offset by extra growth with the booming US economy.

I also think that more aquisitions are likely to drive the business forward.

GHH should sell as a Minimum on a 2005 PER of 14, giving a S/P of
185p-190p. And there are likely to be upgrades following results.

The results date has been changed to allow for the announcement of a substantial
aquisition imo. GHH is highly cash generative with no gearing, so this should
be funded easily without any dilution of equity.

I've got forecast as 11.82p to Sept 04 and 13.74p next year.
(Last year 8.97p).
So 30% growth to now.
& 16% on next years forecast.

On todays price p/e 14 falling to 12 next year.
Without any upgrades to earnings a p/e of 15 would seem fair, which would give around 205p using next years earnings. Add an uprated earnings figure and a higher p/e and there could be quite a jump.

Weren't there some comments about the effects of the dollar previously. My guess is any upratings will depend on what is said at full year, especially with the dollar falling.

yes, my only concern is the ever declining dollar, although it won t effect these results, as they are from sept. 30

We already know that results will be ahead of expections.

The consensus forecasts are for 31+ EPS and the 2005 PER is only 11

With strong growth again forecast for 2005, and this is before likely

Upgrades, a PER of 11 is far too cheap.

GHH moved very strongly on the last interim results.

I see the same happening this time for the finals.

Gooch & Housego PLC wishes to inform the market that its preliminary results
announcement for the year ended 30 September 2004 and scheduled to be released
on Wednesday 8 December, will now be released on Wednesday 15 December 2004.

The Company apologises for this short delay which does not affect the previous
statement made on 22 October 2004 and which stated that the results are expected
to be slightly ahead of market expectations.

Hope not !

Been a very tight trading range in the last few weeks & narrowing as well so its got to do something (down doesn't seem very likely, given prospects !).

I have bought in the morning.

Wanted 8,000 shares - mm was having none of it.

Would deal up to a maximum of 2,500 only.

The booming US economy and the new focus that Gareth Jones brings to GHH, gives

me great confidence. Its also highly reassuring when the outlook statement

with the Interims, says that the main challenge facing the business is

meeting and the major increase in demand experienced accross the group.

On just over 11x 2005 earning, GHH is far too cheap for this growth,

particularly with likely upgrades following the finals.

No wonder I could not buy more than 2,500 shares.

Good Luck to all holders.

G
Good grief, you've had these longer than me !
Unfortunately I lost half a brain cell while the tech. market was rising so only sold half my GHH at about £2-50 from memory.

This is like deja-vu, slowly.

At least it didn't get bought out for a pittance at the bottom.

Yump,

"I thought it might be worth an up to date thread as the title on the old one doesn't exactly look right and hasn't for a while.
Must have missed the 05 forecast when looking."

It's called irony my friend. The title never looked right to those with half a brain cell and that's why it was such a good call at 70p-ish - even if I do say so myself.

FWIW, I'm still holding, having first bought when they were 72p in 1999 - and having top-sliced at £6 a few months later.....

;-)
