15/11/2021 14:43 | Steve 73 appreciate what you are saying . My view of fund Managers is they have the time to do the research and optimise the fund . Personally I like conviction managers for better or for worse . Less companies means a better outcome for a decent fund manager.More companies means they can hide a bit . With gold at 1860 there should not be circa 20% discount to nav. | ohisay
15/11/2021 14:11 | ohisay..prior to last years Subs conversions, there were typically 40-45 positions. With around 50% additional cash, they've been running more than this, so 60 position looks to be about right, to avoid having large position in some of the less liquid co's.. That said, fewer position should allow them to reduce their management fees; more positions probably allows them to justify the higher (absolute) fees... | steve73
15/11/2021 12:18 | Its easy money for the fund managers to have some many positions ,not withstanding the concentration at the top . But its also more transaction costs . I'd prefer fewer positions and less concentration at the top . Just saying it looks odd to me. | ohisay
15/11/2021 11:59 | Looks pretty concentrated in the top few holdings. Perhaps they have a long tail of smaller, speculative positions, which may not be such a bad thing. | riverman77

15/11/2021 04:56 | As far as I can make out, pap's plot in ..081 does not use "different" scales. You need only look to the GPM chart in the header to see that. Over the past 2-years, gold has gone from a c. 1,500 low to 2,200 high - a 50% gain. In the same time frame, GPM low and high's were c. 25 to 73 - almost 3x, or a 200% rise. Clearly a 4:1 gearing... Keep up the good work pap.. keep these idiots in their place. | steve73

12/11/2021 20:45 | Meanwhile........... Fortuna Silver Mines - 8%+ of NAV (as of Sept) is down 22% as their biggest mine is threatened with closure due to their environmental license being withdrawn. | podgyted
12/11/2021 11:24 | NAV now 60.7p. Huge discount on offer at only 48p to buy vs the NAV. | tromso1
11/11/2021 22:47 | This would be higher (following the gold price) but someone wants out. Many 100k and 50k sells today - when its over .................. | podgyted
11/11/2021 22:36 | It doesn't produce any gold, what are you on about? It should follow the gold price but with heavy gearing, and if it invests well should get a performance boost from that. | verulamium
11/11/2021 14:00 | wow, 60p's for 50p in a rising market, whats the catch? | stevieweebie2
