Gold took a bit of a knock on Friday - still have a NAV of @ 54.8p for a discount of @ 18%.

Will have to see how develops on Monday.

Yesterday's NAV published at 53.71p - a 16% discount to the purchase price of 45.10p.

The 4 Australian shares in the top 10 went up a weighted average of 3.5% this morning giving an estimated NAV of 54.6p to go into the NA opening.

Quite a good evening in NA yesterday - I have an estimate of NAV of 51.9p to be published today.

This continued in Oz this morning - I currently have a estimate of NAV at 52.5p pre-NA opening. If I've got this right then the discount at a 45.42p buy price is still @14% which isn't bad when PM mining shares are picking-up.

With buys going through at a gnat's under 40p, the discount's above 20%...which seems a bit silly really.

Looks attractive but someone is/has been dumping £20k slugs into the market for the last few days.

Well it looks very tempting at this price but all my gold stocks have been obliterated ,so no funds left.

100% agreed a great way to play the sector
However it is unclear whether Gold will retest lows or when if it ever makes an impulsive move north

GPM had a good morning in Oz - up over 3% on average.

After this I estimate an NAV of approaching 48p - might be a bit high due to West African going up 12% over the last two sessions - current offer 39.6p.

Many producers reduced costs before the run up in recent years and are well placed with gold around $1,765. I've been adding good dividend payers from Newmont to DRD, B2 Gold etc., and maybe time now for the small caps including GPM.

You may have noticed the podcasters are fairly quiet now as they gradually rebuild the gold and silver sides of their portfolios.

Likewise.

Whilst gold and silver continued to rise on Friday the US PM miners actually fell which was strange but might have just been a "risk off" attitude in the US markets. We'll have to see what Monday brings.

However, I estimate a 46.4p NAV for a discount of over 12% and if gold/silver continue to rise that looks attractive to me.

Bought back into GPM this afternoon for under 40p when the gold price rose. Whether that was a wise move, or not, only time will tell.

Gold looks dead , no sign of life or the impulsive move north that has been eagerly awaited for so many years and years and years.....

Not with the POG @ 1745 and the POS @ 22.55, Gateside. Not for me!

Put my toe in again as the discount widened (SP fell, NA shares went up quite a bit).

The Heikin-Ashi candlestick chart shows the gold price is still in a downtrend

However we could be witnessing a potentially bullish IH&S under formation on the gold price chart. We'll have to just wait and see. Possible target price circa 1940, if it forms.

Have some sympathy with your view so I'm not totally out of gold miners. Just GPM is not as attractive to me as in the past.

They had a good morning in Oz today.

Each to their own but with gld holding firm around 1800 it seems to have formed a base from which to form the next leg up so I won't be selling unless I see the POG break down.

Discount down to 2% based on my estimate of todays NAV to be reported tomorrow of 49.5p.

Each to his own, but I'd want a bigger discount than that given that gold shares are a bit out of favour at the moment.
