GLEN has underperformed AAL, BLT and RIO over various time periods of the last year. Is this all down to their Russian issues or their increased presence in coal ?? Divi is growing rapidly as cashflows improve. Unless Syria really kicks off a purchase seems like a good idea at this level

Putin playing games and pushing the boundaries to find out where they are, just like when he sent boats up the English Channel and buzzed near our airspace. The best miner to trade. Institutions love it as it always ends with more than 50 millions shares traded. So regardless of the news GLEN will always be the darling of traders. No stamp duty and the spread is almost zero. Exceptional stock.

Trump and his cronies I the White House have miscalculated on the trade issue.
Seems to be the makings of a global economic war all round.

Once patriotism and ego get involved it is hard to climb down.
Just like the Cuban Missile crisis way back.
America made a humiliating climb down, kept it secret, and made it look as though Russia had climbed down by turning back their missile loaded ships.

Lets hope this turns out a well.
Dangerous men in the White House right now.
the only saving grace is that no one takes any notice of them anymore.

Glencore, BHP Billiton and Fresnillo upgraded by RBC Capital Markets but Randgold is unloved
Glencore is RBC's top pick in the sector
While Randgold gets the downgrade treatment, miner and commodities trader Glencore PLC (LON:GLEN) is favoured with an upgrade to “top pick” in the sector from 'outperform', although the price target is trimmed to 460p from 470p.

“With the diversified balance sheets universally solidified, we see Glencore's exposure to marketing, copper and cobalt as likely driving a period of outperformance in a choppier mining market,” RBS asserted, adding that Glencore's underlying valuation has retraced further than it thinks is warranted.

The changes in the commodity environment, plus the reduction in the group's net debt to US$10.7bn from US$25.9bn, has left the group with substantially lower financial leverage.

With others in the sector, such as BHP and Rio Tinto, selling assets, this offers the opportunity for Glencore to reshape the portfolio with opportunistic acquisitions.
