alls I know is that $9.7bn of free cashflow last year and at least $10bn this year off a $74bn market cap is highly attractive - 13.5% free cash flow yield after this latest 10% drop - incredible value and incredible dividend paying potential once debt back to $10bn and they attain solid BBB rating

Is Trump going to have the political sway to actually impose the steel tariffs though? Pretty sure congress will see it the same way as you do and be keen to stop him. They've done a pretty good job so far in turning his rhetoric into just hot air.

GLEN certainly underperforming other mining stocks recently and can not even a hold a 3 3p gain before weakening such as today ! disappointing and hard to trade it as not
much to be made . Hope it changes soon

That’s the whole point of a structural deficit, it doesn’t go into surplus unless, for example with copper, they are opening the equivalent of an Escondida every year...which is unlikely as it takes approx a decade to build a mine like that, oh and there are none of that size discovered lately or coming online anytime soon.

Copper was in deficit for the first 9mths of 2017. That’s 2 years earlier than analysts were predicting.

Trading Mining indices, especially a traded share like Glen, shares always go back down, before going higher, just look at the graphs, if you wait long enough there is always a trade to be had .

For example I held at the all time high so far, then it went down about 30plus points, if I had sold at the all time high, and then bought back it at the low, I would have had a couple of grand in in the bag, but like a berk I just watched it go up and down, not taking advantage of the situation.

Cannot see the point anymore of watching it go high, your quids in, and you dont sell, then down it goes again, which it will do given its nature .

Dremel.

So traders make more than long term holders??

Where’s your evidence for that??

Many traders do so via spread bets, and and nearly 90% of them lose.

I decided to trade AAL when making a quick 10% after buying at 220p. Looked
for another chance to get back in but it would have been much higher and I never did.
Had I just held instead it would have been an 8 bagger now.

AAL is now £18!

Mining sector is volatile so a good sector for competent traders. Not so sure about traders who post nonsense on bbs though!

Why is the share price moving so cautiously compared to kaz aal and fxpo.It seems glued to the 4.00 pound mark.

Trouble is one day its in deficit, the next surplus.
Only take,s some bad trading figures from China, which happens quite often, and down go all Metal prices .
I would be careful about thinking Glencore was a good quality Miner ?, some of its business practices leave a lot to be desired, not to mention its reliance on credit .

When markets like copper and zinc are either a) approaching a structural deficit or b) already in deficit it makes sense to have some quality miners in the portfolio.

I was looking at a recent broker review, and they thought it was only worth £390 ?, cant remember who it was?, Morgan Stanley ?.
Another recent article stated Mining shares were not popular because of the fearsome nature of movements, and the big crash .

When you think about it, Mining stocks have had a good run, so might be due a correction of some sort ? mining stocks have always been risky, but thats how some make money, the secret is knowing when to get in and then out, but not many know that, if any ?.
Me I had to sell, after a long term hold, through the worst, if I had traded them, I would have made some good dosh, but just held like a berk, but am waiting for a dip, then will go back in and trade them.
I think traders make more then long term holders,I know its the age old question, just my opinion for whats it worth ?.
Good luck to all who hold it .

Price 'already' valued in?

I do not think so.

Current share price £4 give or take. Dividend £0.142p payment for 2018
This equates to 3.5%
Where can you get this on your money so easily?

Please correct me if my maths is wrong.

dremel.

Mining shares have been VERY popular since early 2016. Mining sector was best performer by far in 2016, and from memory, last year too.

And shares like KAZ, GEN,AAL have multibagged.

E.g GLEN up 6 times from the low,KAZ 10times and AAL 8 Times.

Unpopular??

Please explain.

I think the results were already priced in. Mining stocks are none too popular after the last Big down turn, too volatile for many .
