Gsk virtually two runners in the Corona race, prefer those odds, to Astra who nearly fell at the first fence with their testing.

Not sure have to be 1st but if they get a working vaccine I agree it will give a boost. There will be multiple vaccines - some will work better with different groups(age, race etc)

Ok on the positive front, weaker sterling, experts believe below 1.20 to the pound Will boost FTSE 100 dollar earners and of course GSK.
Most importantly GSK have really two runners in the Corona race, first with Sanofi and the second with a chinese bio company providing tech to them.. If GSK first then of course over 2000p a share, in the meantime collect a dividend cheque every 13 weeks, yield 5.51%.

If FTSE 100 hits 5100 then of course everything down, might be a chance to pick up GSK 1375p

Coronavirus disruption in supplies, hit GSK before, perhaps that's what the market expects on second wave. If so shareprice going lower.

Ftse 100 is underpriced currently compared to other international markets.
But that could turn fast if this is a bad winter. Don't forget Brexit "cliff edge" Remoaners whine about is 1st Jan!!!

Double jeopardy.

Plenty to go wrong that will mean current levels see UK market overpriced!

Spud, I said FTSE100, not FTSE all share index. Some good individual stocks around still, but many more with lots of issues. Either way, I have heard the bull case for what you are suggesting and I simply disagree. The fall out of COVID is still very much to be factored in, I believe. Anyway, we shall see. Lots of fun in the meantime with the presidential election, the many and haphazard approaches to handling covid on national levels across the globe, including furlough schemes that might yield the largest amount of zombie companies in our lifetime. Add in the money printing of late and I think my number may well appear too conservative. But time will tell.

FTSE 100 will still be overpriced at 5500. GSK is a buy at under £15 IMO, but in terms of short term trading this? No idea! Probably slightly more downside from here, if you forced me to make a call.

All six COVID-19 vaccines in industrial manufacturing - HHS Secretary Azar
Bloomberg reports that, according to Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar, all six frontrunning COVID-19 vaccines are being produced at industrial scale.
The companies have all previously announced production ramp-ups ahead of anticipated emergency use approvals aimed at being prepared for prompt widespread distribution.

I don't take vaccines because you do not get a list of possible side effects like you do with medication in tablet, liquid or gel form

Not hyping would be my answer. Sanofi are smart people. IMO there will be plenty of disappointments. The initial launch dates etc were nuts - how could politicians be so stupid? IMO at least one candidate will get through.

GSK were very lucky with Advair as the difficulties of duplicating the particle performance specification were such a high barrier that it kept generics at bay for years. Without this I think the first generics would have come to market easily 5 or 6 years ago. (And
