14/12/2019 04:00 | Abdulla HFX- link gives details hxxps://www.halifax. How Safe Are My Assets? Your stock and cash are safe as there are two layers of protection; segregation of assets and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). Customer assets are segregated from the firm’s assets and so would be available to be returned to you in the unlikely event that we were to cease trading. In the extremely unlikely event of this segregation failing then you would be able to claim under the FSCS up to a value of £85,000. Security of Customers Assets - Segregation Stock - all customer stock held by us is registered into the name of a nominee company controlled by us. This is a non-trading company and the record of accounts clearly identifies those stocks as being held on behalf of customers. Cash - all customer money is held in bank accounts specifically designated as holding client money. This clearly distinguishes client money accounts from those accounts maintained by us for our own money. This means that in the event of our insolvency customer stock and cash would be ring-fenced. The administrative receiver, who would need to be approved by the Financial Conduct Authority, would be prevented from distributing the assets from these accounts to anyone other than the customers to whom it belonged. | hydrogen economy

13/12/2019 08:12 | I am surprised at the way pharmas hammered today as a Tory win was always likely and a higher pound . Surely the fall are overdone ? | arja
13/12/2019 00:05 | Big rise in the pound £1=$1.35 and rising, how is this going to hit GSK share price at the open ? | abdullla
12/12/2019 09:29 | no way if you play it by using charts . But you need to understand charts first . GSK is a bit snaillike but in short term uptrend with resistance in 1765 area . | arja

10/12/2019 18:42 | pmoran1969, I enjoyed reading your text and you are obviously an expert . I have never placed a bet in my life although some might say trading CFDs or spreadbets on financial markets is "gambling" or betting ! ( smile ) | arja
10/12/2019 15:04 | Well described! (Actually, I don't think I'll take up gambling - LOL) …. ;0) | tradermichael
10/12/2019 14:30 | Actually to be fair bookies will start their book off based on polls or similar but once the bets start coming in a bookie doesnt care about polls or tipsters or what a racehorse trainer or the daily mail says. They dont even care about the result, they care about balancing the book. So the odds will reflect what is being backed by the betting public, with bookies amending them accordingly. The reason why a bookies view might be different to that of a poll and why the bookie might end up being right is because the bets truly reflect the views and intended actions of a more accurate cross section of the voters than a polling organisation and the answers are certainly more honest given the punters truly have put their money where their mouth is! That said from memory I recall the bookies and the polls being way off regards the result of the 2015 general election and the 2016 brexit referendum so they are no more a reliable guide to thursdays result than the polls. And bear in mind a punter would happily place a bet thats different to the way he will vote or truly wants a vote to go, after all a profit is a profit! | pmoran1969
10/12/2019 13:32 | but bookies base it on the polls as what else have they got to go on ! all depends on how many folk vote tactically and also what opinion poll at 10pm tonight shows . Nice to see GSK edging up and AZN is not doing that for some reason | arja
10/12/2019 10:14 | Odds for a Conservative majority government are 3/10. Polls often wrong, bookies rarely so! | tradermichael
10/12/2019 09:58 | Reasons to be concerned: 6-8 point Tory margin (according to some polls) means result too close to call. Result on Friday 13th - some will be superstitious. Odds are Tory majority. But masses of new young voters have been registering(they're mainly lefties due to the brainwashing), people are voting twice, and postal fraud is rampant. | crossing_the_rubicon
10/12/2019 08:37 | Reasons to be cheerful: ("Feel good factor") …..Conservativ ("Santa Claus Rally")…. More than two-thirds of the Decembers dating back to the 1960s have resulted in positive gains for shareholders. | tradermichael
09/12/2019 10:03 | ....or at least gets staff discount on the software GSK buys from Microsoft. | semper vigilans
09/12/2019 10:00 | I assume that she is required to take non-paid leave for the time that she is out of office on Microsoft work. | tradermichael
09/12/2019 09:39 | Nice for Emma thx she has the time to be a Non exec director of Microsoft along with being CEO of GSK, outstanding. | essentialinvestor |
