I see Woodford Patient Capital is to be liquidated starting in January. But neither GSK nor AZN is in the top ten of its holdings so probably nothing to worry about for most.

What's POO doing today?

That might explain why Shell/BP havent moved downwards in similar fashion..
Poo >Sterling/USD$ move.

Rubicon

could be either of the reasons you suggest, although sales of Zantac ONLY represent a tiny proportion of overall GSK global sales.

If it's the GB Pound v US Dollar swing I would have expected to see a fall in other major dollar earners, like BP and Royal Dutch Shell.

GSK @ 16.50 must surely give a div yield of nearly 5% ??

GSK down 2.8%, AZN down 2.6%. Isn't it the jump in sterling, from $1.22 to $1.25, caused by Johnson/Varadker 'progress'?

Back to mid 15s in short order. The drop today is because of strengthening sterling and defensives being sold off on the back of a possible brexit deal and the end to this total sxxtshow.

Also demonstrated in many, many clinical studies!!!

Alphorn: I think its an overreaction. The change of manufacturing route gave rise to a trace impurity which is a known carcinogen. But there's unlikely to be a risk to patients in the short-term.

The active ingredient in Zantac (ranitidine) is safe as demonstrated in pre-clinical studies.
