Given the earnings forecast and fact the share price was already relatively low compared to its peers the recent daily price drop is quite surprising (even allowing for the current market (2 day) 'downturn').

GSK appear to have a solid product base and stable outlook which is better than many many other large companies at the moment but time will tell.

Be careful, put in our bid along with Reckitt for Pfizer division, see what the outcome is, see who wins.

Quarterly results on Wednesday and then ex-divi in 2 weeks time. Think a top up might be in order while the sales are on.

Probably appointed so they can appear or so PC.
This has enough debt as it is. Are they after even more gearing .

Making the mistake many execs seem to make at stock market highs. They go on the hunt for aquisitions. Why not buy when assett prices are low. Pfizer are smarter being the sellers.
Seen it countless times. Stupid woman.
imho

This wretched woman leading this company is destroying value by the day, she should scupper any talk of buying Pfizer’s consumer healthcare division, it is not going to bring any value here, she should be focusing on the mess left by Whitty, raising the debt and leaving the dividend uncovered. It was a mistake to appoint her, they should have appointed an outsider, best hope for shareholders is that this gets taken over itself!

Full-year sales at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare unit advanced by just 2 percent to $3.47 billion. A $15-20 billion price tag seems demanding as there's nowhere near enough margin to cover the outlay. Also, online sales (e.g. Amazon) of competing products (e.g. vs Centrum) are eroding this 'me-too' business.

It's about time there was some profit taking TBH. DOW had risen over 25% in 12 months. I thought it would happen a few thousand points ago and closed my longs. In a corrective market then GSK should do relatively better as a defensive. That does not mean it will go up, just fare better than the average.
