22/9/2015 12:35 | Thanks Valedo. I hope the share price drop is an overreaction but no doubt there will be some turbulence for a while. | alan@bj
22/9/2015 11:41 | An opportunity to top up maybe? or is there more trouble ahead? this from Times Online - Concerns impact of VW crisis could spread One thing that has investors spooked about Volkswagen's current travails is it could easily be something that has gone on, with or without the knowledge of management, at other car companies. Shares are down across the automotive sector this morning as investors asses the impact of the emerging scandal at VW. The German car maker is accused of deliberately misleading tests for emissions in the United States. This morning Italy's transport ministry has opened an investigation into Volkswagen over the issue. To be clear there's no suggestion that any other car companies have done the same thing as VW at this stage but it appears investors aren't willing to take the chance that this crisis won't have knock-on effects. | valedo
22/9/2015 08:14 | Valedo - I agree with your comment, but don't understand why the VW emissions issue should knock GKN's share price as much as it has this morning. Can you join up he dots for me? | alan@bj
22/9/2015 08:02 | and AGAIN....knock on effect from VW | valedo
24/8/2015 08:02 | And TIMBER again....... | mike740
21/8/2015 14:52 | Any views on this rather muddled report this morning: It's unclear which company is the principal in this supply chain, but either way if GKN can resolve the technical and, then, the supply issues it seems positive in terms of workflow in a few years time. If they can't then it might be a serious credibility issue. | grahamburn
21/8/2015 08:36 | My thinking exactly! Had some the other day and added a few today. | connor23

15/7/2015 08:38 | Can the Reynolds effect be worth a near 15% fall in the share price or is something else wrong ? | bigboots
22/5/2015 13:17 | GKN Land System's largest customer exceeds forecast, expect a similar peformance for the Land Systems division which means GKN should be steaming ahead on all 4 fronts. | rogerrail

15/5/2015 20:51 | Val - Why would an EU exit affect GKN excessively? :) | jbarker5555
13/5/2015 10:06 | All nice and rosy in the garden, but the EU referendum debate is the main worry for GKN. Any hint of exit could hit the share price hard. Conversely a yes vote would send it flying. Trouble is there is quite a long road to travel until we know! | valedo
11/5/2015 09:45 | Berenberg reiterates buy on GKN, target raised from 400p to 415p | broadwood
06/5/2015 09:22 | Agree, solid but believe prospects understated. my take: Driveline is doing very well benfitting from greater content on SUV's and bouyant German Automotive volumes. Recent further investment in Chain should drive further growth. Aerospace - did well after slight dip in the industry last year. Growth in narrow body volumes and contract wins on business jets( Honda/Gulfstream), good sales wins for SAAB Gripen, and the start of A350 deliveres should overcome any decline in A330 volumes. Powder Metallurgy - solid performance , should if managed properly benefit greatly from the uptake in Addative Manufacturing. Land Systems - reflected poor recent sales from companies like Deere. Would hope increasing disposable wealth in China/India/Brazil will result in greater demand for agricutural and construction equipment and this should feed through to better prospects for the division from here. imo GKN should follow JCB and target further investment or aquisitions in India to boost growth: | rogerrail
06/5/2015 06:22 | Good solid update.... | bigboots

04/5/2015 08:52 | For info: LAT listed in Paris at €9.2, competitor to & partner with GKN in aerostructure has just announced a debt for equity at €8 followed by a rights issue at €3, fully guaranteed by the distressed debt funds, leading to an increase in shares in issue from 11m to 92m after shareholders' approval in June, e.g a dilution of 88%. Stock down...20%! Trades at 8x EV./EBITDA pre-issue vs 6.5x GKN currently Go figure. The stock trades on IG. | alphahunter |
