PHILO124,Good call, maxing your CGT allowance?I seem to recall the last time all the brokers came out with buy recommendations last September GKN tanked 20%. It took months to recover.Cheers,DS

Liberum Capital Reiterates “Buy” Rating for GKN plc (GKN)
February 25th, 2015

GKN plc (LON:GKN)‘s stock had its “buy” rating reiterated by research analysts at Liberum Capital in a report released on Tuesday. They currently have a GBX 440 ($6.77) target price on the stock. Liberum Capital’s price target indicates a potential upside of 13.99% from the company’s currentprice.

Shares of GKN plc (LON:GKN) opened at 376.90 on Tuesday. GKN plc has a 1-year low of GBX 281.10 and a 1-year high of GBX 468.00. The stock has a 50-day moving average of GBX 366.6 and a 200-day moving average of GBX 340.9. The company’s market cap is £6.158 billion.

Several other analysts have also recently commented on the stock. Analysts at Cantor Fitzgerald Europe reiterated a “buy” rating and set a GBX 405 ($6.23) price target on shares of GKN plc in a research note on Tuesday. Analysts at Credit Suisse reiterated an “outperform221; rating and set a GBX 410 ($6.31) price target on shares of GKN plc in a research note on Thursday, February 19th. Analysts at RBC Capital reiterated an “underperform” rating and set a GBX 340 ($5.23) price target on shares of GKN plc in a research note on Thursday, February 19th. Finally, analysts at JPMorgan Chase & Co. reiterated an “overweight221; rating and set a GBX 394 ($6.06) price target on shares of GKN plc in a research note on Thursday, February 19th. Two research analysts have rated the stock with a sell rating, five have assigned a hold rating and fourteen have assigned a buy rating to the company’s stock. GKN plc presently has a consensus rating of “Buy” and a consensus price target of GBX 385.78 ($5.93).

GKN PLC is a holding company. The Company operates in global automotive, aerospace and land systems markets (LON:GKN). The Company’s division includes GKN Driveline, GKN Powder Metallurgy, GKN Aerospace and GKN Land Systems. Phil, I agree. Sales and margins look ok but the business stuff is overwhelmed by currency movements, revaluations of derivatives, and pension obligations.
However I am holding on because I think they have quality products in expanding markets so will continue to prosper and maybe become a bid target. Just IMHO.
Is your sale a final decision or do you anticipate a share price correction, maybe after xd?

Results out; I will need to re-take my accountancy exams to understand these. In the meantime, I have sold the whole lot including my SIPP holding.

GKN is expected on Tuesday to report an increase in annual earnings, driven by a strong performance in the civil aerospace and automotive divisions.
The engineer is forecast to report pre-tax profit of £581m, up from the previous year's £523m, with growth in the key European, US and Chinese markets.

"In terms of 2014, the trading patterns are well established hence attention is likely to focus as much on cash generation for the group which has been more disappointing than earnings over recent years," Numis said.

Just try to make that line into a triangle as support isn't horizontal, it just shows you where retail puts their stops.

Still working lower off the inside day down signal and back within the triangle now. The triangle needed to grow and it has, question is whether this is a pullback before another test of the top of it again or its right back down to the bottom.
