eacn's explanation looks the most reasonable.

If it was tipped, somebody would be posting the link.

Simon Templar, you may well be right, but an alternative explanation is that someone is aware that a buy back is about to begin.

If the company was buying back stock the normal process is to advise the market within 24 hours. Its been tipped somewhere in my opinion.

What are all those red arrows, Sir Rat? They look like commie boats trying to escape from a trap.

Resolution 6 at the AGM authorised the company to buy back up to 3,783,462 shares, that is 10% of the company's issued share capital through the market.

I wonder whether the movement in the share price is as a result of such market purchases. We have had no RNS to that effect but if executed as a block order the company and the nomad may take the view that the purchases don't need to be announced until the order is complete. That would be unusual but not unheard of.

At an average price of 10p the company could easily afford to buy 3.78m shares from existing cash resources.

Have watched this share on and off for a while now but just don't like the accounting. Neither do I like where its situated. Something tells me things aren't right. A substantial discount to net asset value on the assumption the company will eventually get the cash in however. There lies the problem. I reckon its been tipped somewhere recently hence the large spike and buying recently. Good luck to those who have benefited recently however time will tell who is right.

Yup, longer term value definitely here at GNG but the share price might have got just a bit of itself for the moment.

Can't blame folks for cashing in, not really. Quite a good sign though that they think there's some value buried here even if it was very puntish.

I agree with Gelp, can we please keep it relevant? I only come here to read about Geong news/opinions, nothing else.
I hold some shares, and a bit upset I didn't add last month.
However, not sure how long the uphill ride will last.
Their website looks a bit more professional now too.

GNG not one to be out of in the run-up to their next trading update, due November and that's not far away.

Btw - a hugely comprehensive website at www.geong.com
