26/4/2012 12:33 | To add my tuppence worth We may have a good CEO but I've always questionned the finance function, which as we are all aware, was at the root of the previous concerns with this company. However, boards are meant to act as one, so the CEO cannot simply ignore finance and say its someone elses resposnsibility, and he is equally culpable as to signalling one moment a positive forecast, and then the next doom and gloom. That said, and barring out and out fraud or incompetence, we must surely have hit the value point as I suspect Rivaldo would agree | joe say
26/4/2012 12:12 | master s, good luck - it will certainly make the GNG story even more interesting if they do actually get the business performing. [fwiw, I have no intention of investing though however it turns out] | longsight
26/4/2012 11:31 | rivaldo - there is little to disagree with in your post unless of course it transpires that there are further undisclosed issues at the Co. The one thing though where I take a different view is on the question of incompetent management. If the management are bad or hopeless [& is not changed] then I see little prospect of the Co recovering from here unless there is a takeover. The strange thing of course is that many of us were persuaded to invest here originally because of the pedigree of Henry Tse. All very mystifying. | longsight
26/4/2012 11:09 | I've already expressed my views once. Repetition is unnecessary. Some of us have portfolios to run, of which GNG is just one part. I also have better things to do with my time than engaging with those who waste their time repeatedly and pointlessly sniping. For example, a few of us are attempting to explore different avenues in clarifying and improving the situation here in a constructive rather than destructive manner. I suggest readers here pay attention to greengiant's posts in particular. Management have been incompetent in a number of ways over the years, but to state their confidence as to expectations in late February and then to completely reverse so quickly beggars belief. Nevertheless, at a £3.4m m/cap it remains possible that GNG could become a multibagger from here since the valuation is just so low relative to the positives which have always been and are still present. I said "possible"! I remain convinced that GNG is a serious entity, but one which has been badly mismanaged. This at least is something which has a chance of being remedied. Perhaps I will be wrong, who knows. Over and out. | rivaldo
26/4/2012 09:59 | Rivaldo, you need to update the header to this thread dear boy: "On a tiny m/cap, investors can buy into a highly profitable and cash/debtor-rich (ungeared) company on a low growth P/E with a blue-chip client base in the fastest growing market in the world. This is what GNG do" EDIT: Sorry, I forgot you now deny your own existence so that won't be possible. | mcgrath00
26/4/2012 03:13 | Maybe he's simply fled from all those irate employees who bought in at 65p ;) | marth
25/4/2012 21:51 | Do your best, Weidong | sir rational
25/4/2012 21:38 | re viability, mr market thinks otherwise to a worrying extent | wheresthevalue2
25/4/2012 21:10 | Doesn't help that he is rubbish at his job either.... | stegrego
25/4/2012 21:02 | I think he prefers working from home. | sir rational
25/4/2012 20:39 | After Worldspreads went down [fortunately I had neither their shares nor any spreadbets] I read thru the BB. Interestingly, I found some posts from just one guy about a year back who thought their accounts didn't add up. He made a number of perceptive posts [as it turned out] - but the most striking thing was that he was a lone voice & all the bulls on the BB just ignored everything he had to say. He then stopped posting & of course the rest is now history. I try & learn from all the pathetic mistakes I make. I see my mistakes as my teachers. Ego is the enemy [unless you think all this investing stuff is just a cynical pump & dump]. It is very instructive on here how perfectly reasonable bear views were treated with derision & hostility. As it turned out, that was a costly mistake for many. I know that I appear to be going over old ground - perhaps settling old scores some might think. But actually I really hope that everyone on here can learn something from the experience. | longsight
25/4/2012 20:21 | Point taken. I think Amit must have had some kind of a breakdown. Let's wish him a speedy recovery. | sir rational
25/4/2012 20:16 | lol of course, ratty and you have made a fortune on this stock, right? | geheimnis2
25/4/2012 20:15 | Sir Rational, I would suggest that with the state of this share, you remain factual and do not try to imply reasons why ( if indeed he is) he is headed to Seattle. Anything other makes you look desperate and is exactly the kind of inane posting that is not needed here. After all, the bears could state that he has £5m in his suitcase destined for his US bank account. Facts state that this is at the moment mired in negative territory due to what has been thus far very poor management. A growing company? Not anymore. Credibility here is shot and although the share price may go up, it will only fully recover once credibility is restored. Is this management team able o do this? With all their experience, I would suggest not. Mas, whilst it is good to see you here, I would suggest a little humility. You called it wrong, there is no shame in that, everybody has done it. Maybe there is a lesson to be learnt, that maybe tolerate others in a less aggressive fashion. Here, I will await the results, no point in doing otherwise, when the BoD's issued that dire TS they gave no guidance, which in itself is shameful. I just get the feeling that they really don't know what their position is, after all their FD spends next to no time at Geong. Gg | greengiant
25/4/2012 20:14 | It is not a ramp. His personal secretary told me CEO is on a flight to Seattle. Might have landed by now. Have a good night's sleep, Weidong - maybe catch the Real Madrid match then get some shuteye ready for the big meeting. Good luck. | sir rational
25/4/2012 20:10 | lol nice ramp, ratty woof woof | geheimnis2
25/4/2012 20:09 | Is it RIP Geong yet? | rjd123
25/4/2012 20:04 | At tense moment like this CEO going to Seattle will not be for a trivial reason. It will be business-related. It is midweek, tomorrow Thursday he will be talking turkey with some tech co. | sir rational
25/4/2012 19:59 | Found the reason... | stegrego |
