16/4/2007 17:30 | lord, last years results came out on the 20th april i am merely speculating. | monis
16/4/2007 17:27 | And more deals to come by the sounds of it Genosis expects additional distribution deals will be made with other chain drug and retail stores for the Fertell product during this year. | lqs
16/4/2007 17:05 | How come the results are tomorrow?. I did not even know that they where due results or when they are. If results are good then the cautious ones will be buying in tomorrow too. | lord santafe
16/4/2007 16:16 | A good set of results tomorrow morning would be nice. | monis
16/4/2007 16:11 | £59.99 doesn't sit too badly on the boots website considering the product below it is over £170 (admitedly a different product altogether but still in the same arena). | monis
16/4/2007 15:58 | Today it is £59.99 in the UK according to fertell & boots website, it may lead to much higher volumes if the pricing is more palatable. Either way my interest is drawn from the US news, have taken a few but will wait for more news on fundraising before commiting. All info appreciated. | james 2
16/4/2007 15:51 | "The retail cost is £59.99 in the UK [current prices] & $99.99 in the US, anyone know of margins or likely margins ?" -------------------- That's interesting, because that Timers article states the price was £79.99 a year ago & I seem to recall I saw a kit in Boots at that price. Therefore at £59.99 one can only assume that they've either vastly improved production costs or they've cut profit margins, or both. | hattori_hanzo
16/4/2007 15:44 | they are delaying reporting the buys by about 2 hours. | monis
16/4/2007 15:31 | They now have great coverage in the states, i don't know what their margins are but obviously a lot higher with online sales. | monis
16/4/2007 15:08 | I cannot see another comparible product for the male\female test, if it does take off in the US there are 3 million 'potential' users, which is a significant market to aim at without competition. The retail cost is £59.99 in the UK [current prices] & $99.99 in the US, anyone know of margins or likely margins ? US website is up & running now with product avaliable. | james 2
16/4/2007 15:07 | They seem to have a good website. I can see why their sales have improved on line. | monis
16/4/2007 14:51 | hattori- thanks, good article. | monis
16/4/2007 14:32 | results were on the 20th last year so could be this week. | monis
16/4/2007 13:52 | All buys, they'll move this up soon. | monis
16/4/2007 13:39 | Also regarding Fertilityscore being 4 times cheaper, fwiw the price comparison given I think is comparing a £ price to a $ price. | james 2
16/4/2007 13:31 | Genosis' operating results for 2006 are in line with expectations and, as at 31 December 2006, the Company had a net cash position of #2.9 million. The Company expects to announce its Preliminary results in April 2007. Current market cap is 3M. | lqs
16/4/2007 13:28 | Hattori, fair point on the cash whilst they will be raising more for the marketing campaign as released today its still nice to know they have almost 2 million in the bank though even if still being burnt - not sure of the current rate of burn following the increased sales they flagged in the Jan update. You may have more info on Fertilityscore but isn't it for testing the male only ? And does it have FDA approval ? | james 2
16/4/2007 13:28 | 16,000 sell is definatly another delayed buy | monis
16/4/2007 13:21 | Another delayed buy for 13,000 gone through. | monis
16/4/2007 13:03 | Can buy so few on line would not be surprised to see a move up this pm. | monis
16/4/2007 12:38 | The fact Boots are stocking it in the UK and then the premier drug store in the US (with over 6000 stores) is selling it means this is a good product. It will definetly sell. How much it will sell, well weve still to find that out! | lqs
16/4/2007 12:20 | MONIS - Yes, I think marketing and market penetration can often overcome some problems like a competitor who is cheaper, but is a small fish, as is the case with FertilitySCORE, who are a smaller company with less outlets...or at least they were when I last looked. It all depends on who GNOS's competitors are in the US, their profile & pricing power. GNOS need to develop a high profile in the market & a competetive product if there are other similar high profile tests. IE: They need to become a well known brand that couples will trust & are happy to buy rather than go to a doctor for the test. | hattori_hanzo
16/4/2007 12:18 | I also believe that there may be an question mark with the consumer proposition. Having spent 15 years supplying retailers, it is one thing getting a retailer to stock a product. It does not always follow that consumers will buy it from the shelves. This seems to be the case with Boots, where sell through has been markedly below expectations. I looked at this share last Summer and rejected it as I'm just not convinced that consumers will trust such a significant situation (fertility) to a kit purchased from a retailers shelf. | mongrels1 |
