Topped up with another 25k, tightly held as wookie stated not many shares on free float. Attractive acerages strong partners, all to play for....pre consolidation price was around 80p......in April 2007.
Lehman and Artic Securities were all buying on weakness.......

unionhall,

It would be nice to have a drilling programme for Q2 though.......interest will arrive when the programme is released......not a lot of free float available, so when the buying starts it will move fairly quickly......imo

Guys - just having a look here -

This is from the Dec 4th RNS...

Following the
Placing, Genesis will have approximately #20 million of working capital
available and intends to participate in several wells during 2008, the first
expected around mid year.

So no drilling until at least end Q2 I expect so unlikely to have much movement on the share price front either though the Institutional interest and Further licensing awards will help when the excitement starts.

Just my opinion....

rdpounder,

I don't think StopLoss2 was referring to drilling for the latest RNS, but we are still awaiting a drilling programme for Q1/Q2 on existing licenses....as stated in Results and drilling operations on the website....

Err, read the RNS, seismic first, then drilling decisions. Unless you suggest randomly sticking the drill down any old how

Genesis Petroleum Corporation Plc
('Genesis' or 'the Company')

Award of Production Licences

Genesis announces today that Genesis Petroleum Norway AS ('Genesis Norway'), a 100% subsidiary of Genesis, has been awarded interests in three Production
Licences offshore Norway, by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy in relation to
the APA 2007 Licensing Round.

Genesis Norway's participation is as follows:

Blocks 26/2 & 31/11
Genesis Norway 15%
Wintershall 15%
Petoro* 20%
StatoilHydro (Operator) 50%

Blocks 6609/8,9,10 & 11 (parts) - Above Base Cretaceous
Genesis Norway 30%
Lundin 30%
E.ON Ruhrgas (Operator) 40%

Blocks 6609/8 & 9 (parts) - Below Base Cretaceous
Genesis Norway 20%
Lundin 20%
Petoro* 20%
E.ON Ruhrgas (Operator) 40%

The first Licence covers all of Blocks 26/2 & 31/11 and extends to approximately
1030 square kilometres. It is located approximately 75 Km SSW of the giant Troll
oil & gas field and 75 Km SE of the Oseberg oil field. Analysis by Genesis
Norway of existing 2D data shows prospectivity in the Middle Jurassic, Lower
Jurassic and Upper Triassic geological sequences. The operating group will
undertake new seismic acquisition before any drilling decisions are made.

The second Licence covers Blocks 6609/8,9,10 & 11 (parts) and extends to
approximately 630 square kilometres. It is located approximately 80 Km NE of the
Norne oil field. Analysis by Genesis Norway of existing 2D and 3D data shows
prospectivity in the Tertiary geological sequence. New seismic data will be
acquired before any drilling decisions are made.

The third Licence covers Blocks 6609/8 & 9 (parts) and extends to approximately
330 square kilometres. It is located approximately 80 Km NE of the Norne oil
field. Analysis by Genesis Norway of existing 2D and 3D data shows prospectivity
in the Middle Jurassic geological sequence. Partners will undertake new seismic
acquisition before any drilling decisions are made.

Michael Haagaard, Managing Director of Genesis Norway, commented:

'The potential of these awards is very significant as they more than double the
Group's unrisked recoverable resources. Whilst we continue to develop
exploration opportunities with Lundin and Wintershall, we are also delighted to
be partners, for the first time, with E ON Ruhrgas, Petoro* and Statoil Hydro.

We have an excellent technical team, access to a library of 3D seismic data and
the ability to utilise the latest geophysical techniques. This has allowed us to
selectively apply for licenses offshore Norway, an area which has been
identified by our Board as being strategically important.'
