According to the US Secretary of State Iraq's PM Abadi has promised to meet his obligations and commit to the constitution. He said: "Prime Minister Abadi has, I think, made it clear his commitment to follow through on those constitutional obligations, and we hope the Kurds will engage with Baghdad in a very productive way to see that the constitution is fully implemented. I think many of the Kurds' concerns will be addressed through that process. So we encourage the parties to not escalate the situation, not lead to conflict, and stay coordinated, and not forget that the war to defeat Daesh is not yet over and that remains the greatest threat to Iraq."

If you want good news on the pipeline Baghdad will probably have to pay to use the pipeline if the Kurds have any negotiating brains.

For all the noise I expect the situation to improve. Iraq need to use the pipeline. There has to be an acceptable compromise. It makes no sense for Iraq to turn Kurdistan into a failed state. That is just going to sow the seeds of civil war. I see this starting to move forward now.

pogue. The Rosneft gas pipeline is going to Turkey. They are not building it to then not use it.
I do not think we need to over complicate the situation with some devious Russian plots. The gas will be produced and end up in the Turkish market.

the Russians look after Russian interests first if you happen to be of use then good if not they will just remove you.
With Kurdistan I see the Russians there to stop Turkey getting off the Russian energy dependence therefore they are going to make sure they control the gas supply. This raises the question what will they do with GEL? Buy them out, work with them or just steal their assets. I don't know but would not think that they are knights in shining armour coming to the rescue out of the good of their hearts they will have a lot of sway with the KRG government going forward and will make things happen for their benefit.
