There's another Investor meet presentation for the trading and operations update on 17th Jan 2023. Two presentations in 3 months is very unusual for Genel, so I hope something is going to be announced -

in order of likelihood IMO
- a new asset purchase
- good news with Sarta 6
- Morocco farm out deal

Hopefully. Plenty more cash to come..2023 averageGoldman Sachs forecast $110 oil for next year, but recognizes the uncertainty. On Tuesday, Goldman Sachs’ Jeff Currie, global head of commodities, said that recent downgrades to oil prices were because of the dollar and China.

The company has already stated that the arbitration will take place in the UK in 2024 so it is doubtful that the latest increase in interest is because of that. The company’s massive cash pile and the fact that it is increasing each month gives the Board plenty of scope for doing deals or makes the company a very tempting target in my view.in these times the dividends are also very attractive.

It's because I sold a chunk of my shares the other week, just before the recent rise. Grrrr.

I was going to say it could be the somaliland assets as they really sound promising with that accidental find of oil press article some months ago. But i think its something else and its something related to Genel. GKP and Forza Petroleum aren't moving much

i this at this point people with stocks based in the Northern sea would prefer to hold shares in an oiler in Kurdistan. THE IRONY OF IT ALL!! A SUPPOSEDLY SAFE JURISDICTION LIKE THE UK GONE TO THE DOGS.

That's incorrect as divi was paid in October. The next divi payment is in April 2023

With all of the company’s cash in the bank, prospects of more in two years if they get an arbitration award in the company’s favour and continued positive cash flow meanwhile a re-rating might be what is driving the share price up, although I wouldn’t rule out the prospect of a bid at some stage. Anyone else have a similar hunch?

the problem with Genel (i'm not saying it is a bad company) is that they just stand there and don't do much.

Look at Forza Petroleum (also operating in Kurdistan) in contrast
