Looks like the staff options selling has finished and with strong diamond prices suggesting good future auction success , the shares should pick up ahead of results and likely maiden dividend to be announced in a couple of weeks.

Bruce Cleaver, CEO, De Beers Group, said: "As anticipated, there was strong growth in consumer demand for diamond jewellery over the end of year holiday season. As a result, we saw the continuation of robust rough diamond demand in the first sales Cycle of the year as buyers focus on restocking depleted inventories."

Decent production report at both mines. Best ever Faberge sales, now trading profitably.

Conversation with Charles Stanley had. They confirm that GEM is good for ISA and have updated their dealing database.

Fully listed in SA but you can buy AIM in ISA anyway.

Everyone apart from Sean G would like to see Faberge sold.

The reality is that a decision was taken under previous management to sell it and they got no serious offers. The book value bears no resemblance to the real market value.

I tried to buy some today from my ISA and got rejected. Obviously AIM is not admissible so the question is: is GEM listed on the JSE main board or one of the venture cap boards?

Thinking that new 26% shareholder Assore would like to see Faberge sold, in the books at $74 million . Shares would fly as Faberge has been a huge drain on Gemfields.

The Sedibelo stake is in the books at $37.3m which is about the cost of the second wash plant at the ruby mine which would enable them to double tons treated albeit at lower grade. Cash still leftover to pay a maiden dividend.

Having been unloved after the Pallinghurst debacle the shares should come back into favour now that Assore have acquired 26% and the 2 old men have left the board.

Faberge should finally break even and I hope it will be sold.

The second ruby wash plant will not double ruby production, at least when compared to recent historical levels. It is actually needed to maintain ruby production given rapidly falling grades. See Page 42 of the Interim Results presentation.

Record sales at record prices. A second wash plant can now be ordered which will double ruby production in 2023. A dividend is also likely.

Buying ahead of key emerald and ruby auctions next week. Expect strong demand and record prices leading to a maiden dividend next year.

A buyer just picked up a line of 6% of the company in SA at a price of 16p, against current price of 12.5p. Likes like Assore is the buying and a bid is more than likely.

Second half should be even stronger with high quality auctions of emeralds in November and rubies in December. EPS should be 5 cents so P/E of only 4 with more to come next year.
