Looking forward to the next update from GEMD, they are currently at a diamond sale in Israel which could see good results given the number of +100 carat finds in 2019.

GEMD and PDL looking good for decent rises. Both could do with announcing a big stone find and they will take off imo.

Lauders,

my reply was to Apollo, who suggested, like you, with his many links, that the diamond market is being replaced by synthetic diamonds and westerners have lost interest....

The point is simple... I don't think INVESTORS would be interested in synthetic diamonds but would in high grade diamonds, just like I think INVESTORS would be interested in high grade paintings, stamps, coins etc...

"Because of its low cost, durability, and close visual likeness to diamond, synthetic cubic zirconia has remained the most gemologically and economically important competitor for diamonds since commercial production began in 1976. Its main competitor as a synthetic gemstone is a more recently cultivated material, synthetic moissanite."

Thanks for the links Lauders, useful and agree CZ has never been considered a synthetic diamond but a much cheaper substitute.Good to see Argle ramping down this year, should be positive for the other miners like GEMDhttps://www.diamonds.net/News/NewsItem.aspx?ArticleID=64626&ArticleTitle=Rio%2bTinto%2bLowers%2bOutlook%2bas%2bArgyle%2bClosure%2bLooms

For anyone who believes the market for rare good quality assets, be it coins, paintings, stamps, diamonds, coloured stones etc is dead...

"How do you see an improvement in diamond prices in a world where synthetic diamond manufacture is replacing real diamonds and westerners have lost interest in buying jewelry?"

Synthetic diamonds, eg cubic Zirconia have been around for decades, yet diamond market has remained strong.. I don't think INVESTORS are interested in cubic Zirconia but look at rare high quality diamonds... even natural coloured diamonds are becoming more popular.. and the rarest diamond colour is a natural pink...

Some people will buy gold plated silver rings others will buy 18/22ct gold or platinum...

Rare Pink Diamond sells for $50m..

Diamonds will always be in fashion, 'diamonds are forever', the share price is very cheap here , glad market is turning up , GEMD seem to be in a strong financial position , have slashed costs and debt, renewed 10 year lease on mine, gawd knows why Barclays put 50p tgt on it this week, probably cos they want to buy our shares!, announcement due about sale of Botswana mine, that;ll be another 5 million dollars in the coffers.

Where is your evidence of this? I don't see synthetic replacing real, only for the cheap skaters maybe. Read the news, real diamond prices rising.

Would agree, diamond market looking set to turn the corner as widely predicted and GEMD share price looks very undervalued.

Having watched these for a while, I bought some this week...

GEMD's regularly finding large stones and the the diamond market should improve going forward...

The sale process, which is subject to regulatory approvals in Botswana, is ongoing with finalisation expected before 31 December 2019. Has it been done?

I would like to think so but who knows, a 50% drop in share price in 12 months. If the diamond market continues showing signs of recovery then a big yes.
