Fantastic action in the CAD and AUS markets over the past 24h. And as mentioned already, the spot price breaking $34 bodes well for the short term. I think this week is going to be spectacular.

The Sprott trust ATM buying seems to be boosting the Uranium price and the miners seem to be responding.

Surely only a matter of time before GCL responds too.

@Steve - thanks for the Sprott chart. Looks like it was just waiting for data.

I've just returned from 2 week holiday, where i didn't look at my stocks (or work!) even once.

Not hugely surprised to see the drop across the U spectrum. It had got a little hot.

But I am surprised that GCL now trading at a 2p discount to NAV, and am a bit tempted to buy some more. If my wife hadn't told me this morning that I have to pay her self assessment bill, it would have already been invested. Such is life

I would think that support will hold. It's already below NAV and it looks like the share price of the underlying holdings are starting to gently recover.

A bit painful at the moment.

Well the GCL share price is testing the support offered by the 200 day SMA. Will it hold? If it doesn't the next support level is at around 25p.

Hearing on Twitter that the fire safety systems on site have worked, so the workers are safe.

I guess we need to hear more from Cameco on the extent of the damage to support systems (like power and roads) to see how long the mine will be closed.

Not an issue at the moment, but worth keeping an eye on McArthur River mine and the McClean Lake Mill that aren't very far away (about 50km SW and 50km NE respectively) to see if this fire spreads, or new ones start due to the tinder dry conditions.

Cigar Lake looks like Mordor now. I don't think that the mine will be coming back on stream anytime soon. I do hope that the remaining workers are safe.

Cameco temporarily closing Cigar Lake again because of a forest fire burning in the vicinity.

Ought to be bullish for U3O8 price and the other Uranium companies.

It takes a special type of Government thinking to take supply off the market when the market is tightening. Still the US Uranium strategic reserve ought to accelerate the coming expected price surge in U3O8.
