Saber, Nasrul hold meeting on renewable energy uses

Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury on Tuesday held a meeting with State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid at the power ministry.

During the meeting, they discussed the necessary actions to achieve the government's target of 40 per cent use of renewable energy by 2041, reports BSS.

They said Bangladesh will submit its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) to the UNFCCC next year while determining emission targets for the power and energy sectors is a crucial aspect of this process.


They stressed taking effective steps aligned with the government's environment-friendly development policies.

Speaking at the meeting, Saber Hossain Chowdhury said effective measures should be taken to ensure the use of 40 per cent renewable energy by 2041.

“To increase the use of renewable energy and cut emissions as per the target, we need to take and implement precise and sustainable plans. Coordination between the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Power will be further strengthened to this end,” he said.

They also discussed the implementation of the government's master plan for the power and energy sector.


Such meetings will continue periodically to strengthen the cooperation and coordination between the two ministries in achieving the country's environment-friendly and sustainable development goals, they mentioned.

Who on earth is selling ?Today 09:53
Who on earth is selling their GCM shares now.... at this moment in time when we are so close.

Closer than we have ever been.

We have been broke and skint... .we have been without nomads... several times.

We had the PM say loud she will never mine open pit ... we were told our plan didnt meet environment regs..... we had SOOO many hurdles... soo many reasons to sell up in the past.... and much higher share price to get out.

So who on earth is still holding GCM shares right now... today... with so much good news.... funds for 18 months, some of the biggest partners (Power China) - contract deals signed and waiting to go.... Bangla almost begging for our coal.... so who is selling now?............ i just dont get it......if no one sells..... with all these "buys" we should be flying.... so who and why is anyone selling anything at these super low prices ??

Anyway - its now July - back in Jan it was supposed to be done by 1st qtr... now we are waiting for the China visit in 2 weeks.....even I have waited long enough but im still not selling ! LOL
