Just as interesting background a news report just popped up on my iPhone relating to Power generation which says the UK still gets 5% of its power from coal but Germany still gets 35% from coal mostly opencast mining.

Maybe even he has realised another huge Chinese company isn't gonna waste their time and money on a project that doesn't have potential.

The misleading ramp crew can post as many news articles & have their hissy fits at anyone posting realistic viewpoints as they like.

At the end of the day, the share price reflects today & for many years past, exactly what the realists have been saying.

The hearts & minds work at ground level has been going on for years and years, pre Tang, so nothing really new there.


If it’s not gone ahead in the next few years it probably never will. I think the pressure on countries to become carbon neutral will be too great

Yes my thoughts exactly. Hasn't a lot of work been done at ground level in Phulbari, selling the benefits, and its said many locals are happy with the compensation financial packages that will be offered? Plus Hasina has gone all aggressive on any opposition to her economic projects too. Iron fist in a velvet glove could just sway Phulbari.

It’s all positive Mick, we’re certainly seeing a more proactive GCM these days.

Chinese companies must believe there will be a positive outcome otherwise why get involved.

That being said, there is still no certainty that Hasina will give approval.
She us still haunted by pre election pledges of not mining Phulbari which i do believe is the main reason she has not approved it to date.

I still think we are years away even with these latest positive developments

Baxy you been on this share a long time, what do you think of another Chinese company throwing their hat into the ring? Not 1, not 2, but now a third joining the party. That's a lot of time and effort. Was a major press conference announcement last time. Do you think Hasina has given at least some encouragement of it being possible?

A summation would be that there is no way knowing how the Bangladesh Government will react going forward but Michael Tang has moved heaven and earth to get GCM's ducks in a row and if there was ever a chance of moving forward this is it.
