11/11/2016 20:47 | Resource exploration and development company GCM Resources announced on Friday that a memorandum of understanding has been agreed with China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Company. The AIM-traded firm said the MoU provides for the parties to engage and mutually investigate the feasibility of a joint venture with respect to the development of mine-mouth coal fired power plants generating up to 2,000MW in total at the Phulbari Coal and Power Project site. CGGCINTL is a subsidiary of China Gezhouba Group Corporation, GCM’s board said, which in turn is a core member of China Energy Engineering Group Company, a super central state-owned enterprise of the People's Republic of China. CGGC's businesses cover the design, construction, investment and operation in power, water conservancy, highways, railways, bridges, municipal works, airports, ports, waterways, industrial and civil buildings, as well as real estate and coal mining amongst others. “We are delighted to have established this relationship with China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co. Ltd, one of the largest and most respected engineering companies in the region and look forward to working with them for the mutual benefit of both parties,” said GCM executive chairman Datuk Michael Tang. | baxtea1

11/11/2016 16:44 | Janestone Not sure how it will play out now. I have always expected that a Bangla partner would be needed to be honest. Chinese will do though and I don't think anyone can deny how much influence they have over neighbouring countries. Most know i have been realistic and very sceptical of this ever happening this past couple of years. Been so many broken promises. Totally renewed faith now. This is the biggest development since Hasina first came to power & totally out of the blue for me. On another point, a further issue the anti mine groups had with GCM was their lack of experience in pulling together a project like this. So, another duck lined up there also. | baxtea1
11/11/2016 16:38 | WELL DONE EVRYONE i love giving it to AP kiddifidler and his mate | colin12345678
11/11/2016 16:37 | You're right Baxtea, it's all to play for now. The question is, is Hasina involved in a back door deal to produce power in a way that's acceptable to the masses (to get her through the next election), and does that mean that GCM will end up being bought out? | janestone
11/11/2016 16:36 | bodes very well IMO for Monday then, well done all | qs99
