20/4/2023 15:29 | I see Robbie Burns (Naked Trader) has bought into GBG | gucci
20/4/2023 15:10 | 'No forecast or outlook to grab hold of, but who knows what to expect since the CEO/CFO responsible for wasting our fortunes on Acuant have quietly moved on.' The CEO is Chris Clarke and the CFO is David Ward. They did the Acuant deal and are still with GBG. Am i missing something ? | hotfinance14
20/4/2023 10:24 | Hard to know what to make of those numbers. Trivial organic growth, but positive operating financials in £ thanks to favourable exchange rates. And the reverse on debt which hasn't moved in £ terms because reduction progress wiped out by adverse exchange rates. No forecast or outlook to grab hold of, but who knows what to expect since the CEO/CFO responsible for wasting our fortunes on Acuant have quietly moved on. The business can't all be hooked on US bitcoin punters, can it? Until we get tangible comments on trading perhaps all we are seeing is market relief that this isn't getting any worse. In the absence of a restoration to what was a bubbling market place, and given the new c-suite, it is more likely we will be hearing about an internal strategic review (direction setting, refinancing, organisational cost cutting) than renewed interest in a predatory acquisition. | marktime1231
20/4/2023 10:23 | Really...there much I could say but will refrain and take the easy road .... Filtered | wolansm
20/4/2023 10:04 | Rose to 6.50p per share - far cry from current price - but current price looks stable at least and that hasn't always been the case of recent - only think that would raise imo is if tech market went north or a bid - the latter is a decent shot at the current price | seanyboy
20/4/2023 09:45 | Hi @hotfinance14 the chatter at the time was that the bid was circa £5.15 per share at time share price was circa £4.20 - price then rose to circa £6 per share on the back of the speculation. To my knowledge, nothing was formally tabled. hxxps://capital.com/ | expleaseme
20/4/2023 09:43 | Wol "Im here only for the business property relief for my adult kids." That's what they all say ! :-) | contact2fsnetcouk
20/4/2023 08:47 | I think yesterdays buyers are todays sellers looking at rough volumes, moving upwards now but really need more good news. Im here only for the business property relief for my adult kids. | wolansm
20/4/2023 08:16 | I think Wol topped up yesterday. Fantastic timing with the share price up over 10% as I type.I expect the market was expecting some negativity in this mornings update.Onwards and upwards. | hotfinance14
20/4/2023 07:39 | It would be interesting to know what the original bid was for.Obviously much lower than what GBG would even consider. | hotfinance14
20/4/2023 07:29 | GTCR free to table another bid if they wish before price runs here imo. | aishah
20/4/2023 07:12 | The market likes the update. | hotfinance14
20/4/2023 06:21 | Looks like Acuant has been a disaster. Bring back Richard Law who knows how to do acquisitions. | nigeldoug1
20/4/2023 06:19 | Trading statement this morning as expected. No suprises with profits per guidelines. | hotfinance14
19/4/2023 19:34 | Thanks @wolansm. Just checked the RNS and noted that GTCR LLC's withdrawal from bidding was announced on 4 October 2022. So it would appear that the 6 months is just up. Not certain what is happening at GBG lately. Long serving MD (Nick Brown) left last month without any fanfare or congratulatory message in teh announcement. Long serving Group Commercial Finance Director (Richard Jarvis, has been there since 1996!) also left this month to be CFO at Ladbible. Also announced last week that Acuant (purchased last year) is now not a brand name of GBG but instead has been subsumed into the existing IDology business - a brand it purchased in 2019. Hope they know what they are doing. | expleaseme
19/4/2023 15:25 | Think the most recent director purchase was @ 3.33 - at the current price that is quite a fall - can't always put too much faith in an inside trade but you would think it signals some hope for better things ahead! | seanyboy
19/4/2023 12:29 | Must still be a multi bagger for you as it is for me, maybe time to monetise, I'm going to sit on my hands a bit longer, my plan is to get a few more into isa | wolansm
19/4/2023 11:58 | I don't see a comeback as I think in initial talks GBG probably said we won't even get into talks unless you bid X which is a lot higher then they expected. I could be wrong but they are my thoughts. I rememebr the CFO bought a tranche of shares for £8 plus so he will want the share price to get back where it was a few years ago. | hotfinance14
19/4/2023 11:05 | Not entirely sure but I think the 6 months is out, I reckon PI would dive on a bid now, it's a shame the board squandered this away IMO with the takeover but might still be proven wrong, Mr Hot do you see a comeback | wolansm
18/4/2023 16:18 | Hi @saj3 in line with previous years, I'm assuming that as there has been no news from GBG since that trading update in February 2023 that this week's pre-close trading update will (subject to audit) be in line with, but no worse than, the expectations set in February. Last year's bidder will also, I assume, soon be out of its statutory 6 month preclusion from making a bid. | expleaseme
12/4/2023 15:09 | Going to wait until next update | saj3
12/4/2023 14:20 | What is SCSW ? | hotfinance14
12/4/2023 13:04 | Taken a position here. Eps 2023 fcst 15.5, followed by 16.9 and 19 two years out. SCSW had a full write-up in the last issue at 341p. GTCR now able to table a bid - previous one was a rejected > £5. dyor | aishah
01/4/2023 17:21 | I voted with my feet and sold up! | lomax99 |
