The problem, in my view, is a lack of faith by the market that the management team are capable of actually delivering.

They'll be negotiating with "the big boys" at Google; Amazon; Apple... possibly even Microsoft if they decide on a 3rd party solution, and our future financial success is dependent on there being sufficient margin in the deals they manage to seal.

What EBITDA are you factoring in your calcs? "significantly better" than £1.5M is about all we know.

N+1 Singer Update Summary:

Frontier has announced that its Smart Audio platform has been chosen by HARMAN to power its new JBL Control Xstream wireless speakers. Frontier and HARMAN have collaborated on Digital Audio products since 2013 and this design win, with the world’s leading provider of wireless home audio devices, follows on from the group’s previous win to power the JBL Playlist speaker. We believe this continued collaboration is strong validation of the quality of Frontier’s solutions, supporting our view that the group is well placed to secure a significant slice of the attractive Smart Audio market. With the Digital Radio business delivering c.£10m+ EBITDA p.a. and the Smart Audio division expected to hit EBITDA break-even within our forecast period, we continue to believe Frontier is a compelling investment proposition.

At least they are now using the rns-r system....

Frontier (AIM: FST), a pioneer in technologies for Digital Audio devices, is pleased to announce that its Smart Audio platform has been chosen by HARMAN International Industries ("HARMAN"), one of the world's largest manufacturers of audio systems and speakers, to power its new JBL Control Xstream wireless speakers. This is the latest in a series of Digital Audio collaborations between the two companies, which date back to 2013.

Minuet, Frontier's Smart Audio technology with Chromecast built-in and Spotify Connect, will enable the JBL Control Xstream speakers to provide highly synced wireless stereo and multi-room capability. Frontier is one of a small number of solution providers working with Google on its Chromecast built-in technology, enabling its customers to develop Smart Audio products. The speakers, which are sold as a pair, are expected to go on international sale at a price of $499 per unit later in November 2017.

Lou Schreurs, Vice President BU Connected Home, Harman Lifestyle Audio, said:
"Having worked with Frontier on other products, we were pleased to extend our Smart Audio relationship. Frontier's technology team supported us to complete development of the JBL Control Xstream speakers in a timely manner."

Anthony Sethill, CEO, Frontier Smart Technologies, said:
"Our Minuet platform provides a complete toolkit for brands and manufacturers wishing to develop Smart Audio devices with Chromecast built-in. We are delighted that Harman has once again chosen Minuet, this time to power its new JBL Control Xstream wireless speakers. This is an excellent example of how our longstanding relationships with some of the world's best-known audio brands can lead to further contract and design wins for our Smart Audio solution."

Worth following Patrick Hannon on Twitter in my opinion. @PatrickHannon3

Swiss news posted yesterday could be quite significant.

I suspect many brokers don't do much research when they pronounce their estimates but look at other brokers numbers and add or take a few , which perpetuates the first guess.....

I think 'Market Expectations' tends to be a consensus of brokers targets for the given metric (i.e. EPS, Revenues or in this case EBITDA). I guess you have to get your hands on the brokers notes/forecasts to find out. Digital look sometimes has projections based on consensus too, I'm guessing the paid for sites do too.

TD, the question is, What is the current market expectation Today? There always seems be one but we are never told what it was until afterwards.I suppose companies are using broker forecasts. Do they use all brokers, or select a few brokers? House brokers should be the best forecasts but are often not,What is source of the commonly used "market expectation" for each company?

Yes, but they did the decent thing and specified the £1.5m in a note to the announcement.

Alas, "significantly" is not numerically defined, so between 10% and 5000% and anywhere inbetween.

"In the second half of the year, we expect trading to hold up well and our full year EBITDA performance should be significantly ahead of current market expectations."

4 Current market expectations prior to this announcement for the Group's EBITDA for the year ending 31 December 2017 are approx. £1.5 million.

They gave a trading update one month ago, on 28 Sept. You can't expect any company to give trading updates every month ... except for GAW :)If FST sales are significantly exceeding prior indications then they would be obliged to give market updates. If sales are in-line or insignificantly ahead then there is no reason to update the market.

Valued at something like one-times anticipated FY Revenues ... you'd think it was cheap with half-decent management.

My personal view is that FST should start to produce quarterly sales data to give a better feel for the underlying performance of the business segments.

We are, of cause, aware of how un-stock market savvy the management are and hence the low rating of the shares.

Battlebus, support of the breakaway gap was important for the flag pattern to play out. The deeper retrace now relies on historical support, approx 117, or 100-105. Hence the stop out. [Also wider market giving some concern for a short term correction]

Annoying, as at one point was showing a good profit.
Price could still turn Monday

Price has retraced into the Breakaway gap further than I thought it would, but this remains support. I guess profit taking is to be expected after the recent outstanding price performance. The mid price based chart shows a partial gap fill, while the last price based chart shows it completely filled.

We have a potential turn for 12/13 Oct., with a second 23 Oct.

The Drewster, There are different kinds of gaps;- Common or area gaps, Breakaway gaps, Continuation gaps. etc

They have their own definitions and characteristics. [See link below for more info]

Each has its own cause, for example, news, or a dividend payment.

Statistically, each have quite different average closure times, with some types not closing at all.

Look for example at the daily chart of stocks like KWS or FEVR and you can see a historical trail of open gaps. These are most often what are known as Breakaway gaps.

Breakaway gap ups occur with good news, for example 'significantly ahead' or a new contract, etc

The gap in the FST chart is a Breakaway gap. I see Breakaway gaps as a prerequisite for identifying the kind of go-go stocks I want to trade.

Rather than closing, in my experience Breakaway gaps make excellent support zones. Think about what caused the gap to open in the first place.

The chart shows a Pennant. A triple potential apex based turn Friday 6 to Monday 9 October should take us much higher, approx. 159 being the target. An eod close above approx. 163 makes FST a candidate for a High and Tight Flag pattern, with an even higher tp. gla
