They buy any shares going towards 50%, they may be all ready there if the collection of 10 million for them is complete. All over at 35p.

Looks like Chelverton may have sold out based on the info in the major shareholders section:

Chelverton Asset Mgt. 2,200,000 5.40%

SAG may have to raise its public offer or buy blocks off-market from institutional holders. If SAG can't complete its hostile offer and is left with a significant shareholding in FST, what are the scenarios?

We take opposite views on SAG and such differences make a market.
Certainly the purchase of FST, if it proceeds, makes a very interesting and probably speculative digression for SAG but I believe that the SAG management is qualified to make a success of it.

Looks like SAG picked up 2.5m today but still well short of 50.1% threshold. Going to have to try new tactics if there isn't a rush to sell tomorrow.

SAG at serious risk of over-paying for this, imo. Seems a poor fit to bet their entire cash resources on which would make me concerned that this is an acquisition for acquisition's sake. They previously put themselves up for sale and didn't get any parties willing to pay up so this feels very much like a throw of the dice and an odd one to do it on.

I enjoyed your witty allusion to the pocket-filling propensities of our directors.
My modest holding (bought at nearly 200p) is contained in my ISA with Barclays Smart Investors (not a propitious name) and I have been surprised to receive no notice of the "Corporate Action". I shall hold on and let myself be bought out later if the bid succeeds.
More interesting for me is the bidder. I am lucky enough to have a decent-sized holding in Aptitude plc, formerly Microgen. Mr Martyn Ratcliffe, the chairman of the Science Group and a major shareholder, was in charge of Microgen for about 20 years until 2015 and very successful with it.
I suggest that this company is well worth a look. I cannot pretend to be a disinterested party as I have been buying SAG shares recently and may buy more. There seems to be an ample supply at about 199p.

Expect most small investors will be selling tomorrow as deadline to accept offer is noon on Monday for those held in SIPS and some holding accounts.

They may have to up the bid, don't know how many off the 10 million they are after is being collected by their representative. Each day less and less trade.

The sale will put a stop to all that, pity not more but HEY the deal will go through and just hope they get enough shares by monday to stop any bonuses going through.

p1nkfish - You missed out on 135% gain cause you thought you could get in cheaper by deramping Frontier, even going so far as using multiple aliases to kick it.

Why on earth should anyone listen to your judgement on institutions.

Their sole purpose is to maximise their investments. Learn from them!

And still no one sells. I bet science group are fuming

Shareholders perception of value here (and no doubt their paper losses) is literally the only saving grace for the board

Any institution with confidence in FST management is an institution I would pull money from immediately.

I don't think there are that many small holders left in % terms, and rest owned by management and institutional holders. Expect news this week that science have gone all out and done.
