I think FST need to try and get some news out to lift the price more, effectively thats what they did this morning in a hurried way to some extent but they need to do more. At least we are materially over the 30p bid

Interesting situation.

SAG can't acquire any more shares in the market (given the illiquidity) but effectively hold a blocking vote and can frustrate any alternative bidder.

An alternative bidder needs to know they can buy the Company cleanly to make a serious offer but an indicative offer at a higher price may force SAG to up their game or sell-out. Depends what their IP is worth !?

Look like M&G hold the cards here and will want to try and maximise value from the situation.

If SAG really want to buy FST (and a deal to happen quickly) and see the IP as having decent tangible value, I think they will need to up their bid to 45p+.

Most likely scenario is an increased bid from SAG and a deal gets done.

There could be many more twists and turns though along the way.

Quite clear that the BoD aren't going to recommend a bid at 30p. So SAG had better come up with a better offer as can't see M&G accepting 30p when the market is indicating that is too low. FST clearly has some technology that SAG think they can exploit as this is a long way from their core activities. SAG are suggesting that the presence of a credible industry player is a fiction. But given FST's collaborators there is every chance that it is genuine and that would (partly) explain their refusal to engage. If it is any of the credible industry players referred to in FST's accounts, SAG are seriously outgunned. They can huff and puff as much as they want but until they come up with a reasonable offer it will just be a load of noise. I don't see any great sales volume in the market suggesting that holders are interested at the 30p level
