I suspect end of company share buy back and City not convinced with Michael Murray. Do they really think Mike Ashley will step away 100%. Hold your nerves folks Chris Wooten and Murray's bonus is paid at £15 share price IMO they will get paid.

AGM on 29th is the current end of share buy back. One last push over £7.00 and then let's see how share price holds its value without support up to interims on about 9th December (LY thurs)

At the going rate of increase it should hit £7 before the end of the month. Very rewarding indeed but will MA rollercoaster hit the peak they clearly want?

Interesting article in the mail about that £100m bonus. I guess if you keep buying back shares every year should make things easier.

Not bad now target is £15 in 4 years time. RNS In considering a remuneration package, the Remuneration Committee was mindful of setting targets that were both stretching and achievable and that would reward an incoming CEO commensurately with the shareholder value that could be attained. As a result of those considerations, the proposed share option scheme for Mr. Murray has a target share price of £15 which must be achieved for 30 consecutive trading days before the vesting period ends on 7th October 2025. Should the options vest, and the share price on exercise be £15, Michael Murray will be awarded shares to the equivalent value of £100m before tax.

Massive potential bonus there, but £15 a share is massive.

chester9 ,
thanks for your comments and appreciated . But I think share buybacks is a bit artificial and when management id bereft of ideas on how to invest the money - maybe not in this case . In some aussie companies I follow buybacks do not boost the share price .

Read a few posts but model is simple. Competition has struggled on high street. Sports Direct very successful, Flannels is proving very popular with younger and cash rich customers. Mike Ashley has offered 1000 managers/staff at least £50k each if share price hits £10 for 30 consecutive days by Oct 24. Company is a tough machine that does not waste money and is trying to improve its image. Share buy back in place is driving share price see RNSs daily. Mike Ashley is stepping away from front line leadership but remaining in the engine room. Most here believe he really wants to deliver on this price, so next stop £10.

I have not followed this stock and did not realise it is sports direct ! But why such a massive increase in share price from the 200 level in 2020 ? great looking chart and hard to argue with that !

It might well be netcurtains but is it so nifty on its feet, and I think it goes to show the difference it makes when you have a dictatorial regime running a business.

It is almost noise bleed stuff compared to M&S which I think is a fundamentally better company.
This is now valued significantly higher than M&S.....

With all the buy backs Chester9 that is more likely each and every day that passes, as the amount of free flowing stock gets squeezed.

Mike Ashley steps back in 12 months. He wants to deliver £10 a share for 30 continuous days by October 23. That triggers a massive payout and thank you to staff. share price currently £6 that's a 67% return over 3 years. That's not too shabby. Will he do it as a Swan song as part of hand over? I believe he and they will.

Mike will still pull the strings and it gives him lots of other advantages.

Bearing everything in mind I think the figures are very good. Big debt reduction and moving forward with prospects improving.

#FTSE Selfridges up for sale with £3b price tag. That seems a heck of a lot for one store. What does that make #MKS or #FRAS worth?
