Frasers Group urged shareholders to remove Boohoo's executive chairman Mahmud Kamani on Thursday, to appoint Mike Ashley and James Lennon to the Boohoo board. In response, Boohoo announced the appointment of Tim Morris as independent chair, with Kamani transitioning to executive vice chair and committing to governance measures including limiting his influence over board decisions and operations. Frasers, which owns just over 28% of Boohoo, requisitioned a meeting for the appointment of Ashley and Lennon for 20 December, and urged shareholders to remove Kamani at a separate shareholder meeting.

I think City like to see the results with Frasers. Mike Ashley owns about 70% so he is in total control. He promoted the staff would get ten pound a share by Oct 25 so time is running out. Needs good news soon.December will tell what kind of year it's been.

Results for Sports Direct should be good with Euros and Olympics. They have been a disaster with House of Fraser. The best store Glasgow used to be amazing, not now.Flannels look good but are the kids still into £400 trainers, Stone Island and CP clothing. ASOS and BOOHOO can Mike actually take over a business and make it successful. He tried with Debenhams but has a history of selling the assets, hammering the landlords and taking a brands values down to price only. The employers NI will be dragged back by further automation. He's a great business/property man but not sure about the luxury end of retail.

Frasers Group plc posted its FY24 results this morning and they confirmed continued strategic progress against key priorities. The business delivered further profitable growth with adjusted PBT up 13.1% to £544.8m with adjusted EPS up 33.6% to 95.8p. The outlook remains positive, guidance was for more of the same with FY25 adjusted PBT expected to be £575m-£625m. The Group's strategy is underpinned by a strong balance sheet with net assets increasing to £1,873.0m even after a £126.4m share buyback programme. Valuation is also still reasonably attractive with forward PE ratio at 8.6x following a couple of years of sideways range trading. The range holds for now so there is no immediate rush to buy here, but the business continues to grow solidly, is profitable and still at a reasonable price, so is well worth keeping an eye on until the start of the next leg higher. Monitor for now...

Great news for Sports Direct at the last Euros they printed loads of TShirts with a celebration predicting the England win. The next day they started to flog off at big discount, but it was a bit of fun I suppose. .I bet England shirts selling very well and at a mad price considering the quality. .Good start to sales this year either way.. Might not be good with labour winning, they might give full pension rights to zero hour contracts starting at whatever they earn. With tech these days it is relatively easy which would hurt Sports Direct and others.

Nike missed its forecasts and its sales are down, so that doesn't augur well for Sports Direct.

Next year FY. Should start with a bang. Sports Direct always big with Euros or World Cup. 2 uk teams plus they will have teams in Belgium/Austria where SD is has presence..The staff share award is triggered at Sp of £10 with that being held at for 30 days. . Wages will be higher but they have done a lot of automisation so mitigated.. How are the sales is the big unanswered. Results in 4 weeks, they are underpinning the share price and improving the EPS.
