Oooh, stock down again first thing this morning again, trading statement out shortly, nothing suspicious there then :) I may even get my 38p buy filled today !! Happy days !!

MM's playing amongst themselves for the last few weeks (not for the first time !), expect more of the same in the coming weeks. Buy the dips !!

Just read over on the other forum about rents and instructions moving ahead again in February, so that should go down very well. Anyone got access to level 2, I see the price moving all over the place but MMs trying to contain the 40-41p level ahead of tomorrow no doubt.

Hopefully our MMs will call the price down a penny or two this morning amongst the carnage out there so I can buy a few down at these levels. Just left a buy order on at 38p. Fingers crossed !

Rates taking a beating today again . This is positive for home owners on variable rates and new buyers . Remortgages too . Funny how good news takes the price down

Rates took a beating yesterday . 2yr , 5yr and 10yr . Think that after the very quick implosion of SVB bank the Fed will think twice about a 50bps rise and rates over here in the UK are probably reaching a peak in base terms but already have on the term structure . As I suspect inflation will drop fast I then suspect that as the economy slows the BOE will start to cut rates later this year . Rents will remain a strong earner for Foxtons and Sales could in my view start to pick up too as affordability improves . Let's see .

From strength to strength for Foxtons . Looking forward to the presentation . NFP numbers in the US were pretty bullish 20 mins ago , labour market in general and in the UK is strong , can't see the rental business suffering and neither sales to dramatically slow . On top of which rates are not so bad and limited supply will be a big factor .

Just had a quick look at this weeks IC mag, page 51 if you're passing a WH Smith. Nothing new in the article really apart from the fact that IC have now recommended a 'hold' on the stock after eight or nine years of slamming the company. Lets be honest how many companies lately have reported full year figures, operating profit + 56%, Pre-tax +115%, Earnings + 63%, Divi +100%, net free cash flow +17%, er......not many !!! Keep an eye out for the last afternoon session today just in case, no doubt the predators are sharpening their pencils and running the rule over the company !!

Nice one Buffetjnr, apparently there is also a good write up about Foxtons in the IC magazine this week, I'll see if I can hunt it down. Makes a change for them to write something positive about the company after years of nothing but put downs !!! The worm has definitely turned !!

I am surprised there has been no comment on the cluster of director buying, announced this afternoon. A good sign, surely?

Yep good spot, directors and staff helping themselves after the numbers yesterday:-

'Foxtons Group PLC - London-based estate agency - Chair Nigel Rich buys 250,000 shares at GBP0.426, worth GBP106,500, on Tuesday. Foxtons on Tuesday reported annual results, saying pretax profit doubled in 2022 to GBP11.9 million from GBP5.6 million in 2021, as revenue rose 11% to GBP140.3 million from GBP126.5 million. '

Excellent results and prospects.
The ship is now in extremely good hands.
The directorate changes in January, gaining HR and M&A expertise will be pivotal in resolving some of the core operational deficiencies alluded to in the results.
Engaged and motivated people under strong leadership, delivering stretching but achievable goals ... The country needs more of it!

In normal circumstances, the market and media tend to focus on the bad, rather than the good when a company announces decent figures, obviously by design to let their mates in at low prices. Sadly for those lot there wasn't any bad news tucked away in the statement, just the '£25m-£30m' of unfulfilled potential to have negatively impacted the performance of the company. If ever there was an 'up yours' caveat to the market, well I have yet to come across a better one !!! Get ready for the US private equity/buyout bandits to show their hands in double quick time, the last thing they want now is an increased institutional awareness of the stock that's for sure !!!
